Why would you say that ???

The writer's announced yesterday that they are not picketing the Grammys
so there is no lines that is being crossed (They will not write for the show) but they're not picketing it either

And they are allowing the two primary writers to write for the show.

I'm not talking about Janet performing...I was referring to my post about Beyonce and Tina Turner performing a Duet together

I hope Beyonce and Tina Turner DO perform together because if there's anybody that can make Beyonce want to sit her ass down somewhere and give it a rest already...it's Tina Turner!!! lol

lol I would love love LOVE to see Tina perform Edith and the Kingpin with Herbie Hancock especially since he got three nods for it including Album of the Year.

Dance

I'll save some of you the trouble of watching.

Janet is lowered onto the stage or is rolled out with a bunch of her queens. She's wearing a bra and girdle corset and giant pants(to camouflage her wonderful ass...Middle America don't like a nice fat ass apparently). She's got a dead poodle on her head and some sort of pleather bullshit wrapped around her head or arms.

She does Control and then If with lots of air traffic controller movements.

She does new material. Lots of ass and titties going on with occasional seizure-like movements. Lots of dance queens and lesbians rubbing her peesh and ass. Flashing lights, smoke, wind machine. It's all over and people are left wondering how they ended up watching this wack WAY off Broadway production and if they can get their money back.

Can't Tyler PURRy keep this chick busy so she doesn't abuse us anymore?

As usual i expect NOTHING from the Grammys because they just dont get it. Their prestige is what the "oscars" are supposed to be, but the Grammys are not even close, they are nothing but the AMA show, but if they researched, the AMA show gets horrible ratings because no one cares. Now the Grammys had a chance to do something special with their 50th show, but their gonna blow it and we all know it. These tributes are gonna be lame, no tributes, the real things are still alive, Stevie aint dead, Michael aint dead, and if i see a Beatles tribute im gonna be sick, mainly because Paul is the one that should be doing it, sorry i dont wanna hear another person ever sing "yesterday" but him. Its great to pay respect, but the best way to pay it respect is to let the originators do what they made U famous for, stop being concerned with ratings, the show does poorly ever year anyway, at least let the show be good for once.

The Grammys fell off so long ago, it's a shame... I don't think there is a musical equivalent of the Oscars anymore. And yet every two years or so they come up with more music award shows.

L.A. Reid Plays the New Janet Album in His Office

Yesterday afternoon I got last-minute word that L.A. Reid was playing Janet’s new album, Discipline, for members of the press in his office. Not being one to miss an opportunity like that I hit the train and raced up to Def Jam. When I entered LA’s 28th floor corner office, there were about 15 to 20 journalists lounging around the office. The chairman of The Island Def Jam Music Group was sitting behind his desk, wearing his trademark suit and sipping what appeared to be a cup of tea.

L.A. played nine tracks from the Janet album. Upon first listen I really liked, “Love,” “Tonight” and the risqué title-track “Discipline.” I didn't take any pictures because it wasn't that kind of party. Here are my notes.

1. "Love" - This one is a banger. Clever wordplay likens falling in love to getting in a car accident. “I shoulda stopped at the red light/ I’m like a deer in headlights/ He hit me with his love la la la love/ Got me caught in a wreck/ I’m a mess.”

2. "Feedback" – This one is the current single. If you haven’t seen the video yet. Peep it here.

3. "This Can’t Be Good" – This song was written and produced by Ne-Yo. It’s a beautiful slow song that features those classic Jackson vocals.

4. "Rock With You" – LA Reid had to put on his tinted glasses when this song came on. It starts with a robotic voice declaring “I want to rock with you.” The song is very electronic and will bang in the clubs.

5. "Tonight" – Is another club joint. The hook is, “Something in the air has got me feeling like I want it tonight.” “Tonight” is a sexy song that features classic Janet lines like, “My body’s here I’m soaking wet, I want to give you something that you won’t forget.”

6. "The Greatest Ex" – Janet slows it down for this one. It’s an ode to an ex-love that will always have a place in your heart.

7. "Discipline" – This song about sexual surrender. “I need some discipline tonight, I’ve been very bad,” Janet coos on this track. She begs for punishment with lines like “Daddy, make me cry” and “Take your frustrations out on me.”

8. "Rollercoaster" – This one was produced by Darkchild (who also did “Feedback”). It’s simple yet catchy, “You take me up and down with emotion like a roller coaster/ like a ferris wheel.”

9. "Let Me Know" – Miss Jackson says “let me know if you want me” while rhyming her attributes. She is flexible, incredible and… (wait for it) edible.

That’s the thing, sometimes there’s people I want to see but I don’t want to give them my time for 3 hours or so. Occasionally I record and skim through or just have friends call me when my favorite artist come on. lol

You can easily compress the good performances or highlights into about 15 or 30 minutes yet they stretch it out to 3 crappy hours. Then give half the awards off camera anyway but make sure you see Lil Somebody sitting in the audience all night before he performs a collabo with 8 other emcees.

The thing is that they think people wanna tune in and see Rihanna or Chris Brown, but they dont, the people buying them could care less about an award show and it shows in the ratings, and thats a big point. Back in the day we would sit through music we didnt necessarily know much about, like classical, i mean the grammies always had something like this and it would always come before an artist you were dieing to see, but you watched because the show at least was filled with others you wanted to see and deserved to be seen. Why cant we show a JAZZ performance on this show? Because Kanye has to put on his LIGHT and EGO show for america. The show should be all-inclusive too and THOUGHT OUT in that all-inclusiveness, so when Rap comes on the show dont give me SOULJA BOY give me freaking Lupe Fiasco, i mean be serious Grammies. And whats with this "american idol" like thing going on with the show where some clown at home gets to be on the show, sorry, this isnt dancing with the stars, stop doing these blatant "we need ratings" moves.

The Grammys are trying to show they're relevant...in a bad way. I summed it up to that. They're so bad they had to get a retired performer to dust up her old high-heel shoes just so she can be in the "highlights" of the Grammys performances, lol. And also, get Janet since Michael ain't going. evillol I'll watch their performances. Everybody else? -----> lol

New report says Janet will not be performing at Grammys

A new report by MediaTakeOut.com says that Patti Webster, one of Janet's representatives, is denying reports about Janet performing at this year's Grammy Awards.

Webster told the website, "Right now, Janet's focusing on the release of her new album Discipline. While she may attend the Grammys, she will not be performing."

The comments contradict a statement by one of Janet's dancers who gave an interview saying that he was in rehearsals with Janet for the Grammy Awards.

I absolutely hate when they have a legend you’ve been waiting to see who then has to share the stage with some kid who’s got two albums or three songs under their belt. I don’t want to see [insert hot artist of the moment]. I want to see the over 35 person that you think can’t hold ratings. Every once in awhile you get a nice blend but for the most part I feel like ill I have to take the bad just to get some good.

Neither one of them should be saying anything about Janet except her official spokesperson. I've never seen someone's back up dancers have so much to say since the days of Jose and Luis.
