Anxiety

lately i've been listening to LCD Soundsystem's "45:33" e.p. (which is neither an e.p. nor is the playing time 45:33 - figure THAT one out nuts ) and "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" by Brian Eno & David Byrne, which originally came out in 1981 but got a fancy reissue a year or two back. Both are kinda funky alterna-nerdy dance music.

Yeah, get Van Hunt's second album. I'm with you on the first one - it's average at best. The second one is magnificent however.

Get it. Now.

And get this- it's from 16 years ago! There's plenty of music in this vein out there now but when this came out it was the only thing like it.

Go browse.

Isten hipped me to Burial and I am totally addicted.
I myself am totally feeling the latest Iron And Wine, esp after having seen him live; Sam Beam is prbably the most amazing vocalist out there.
And live his is butching up with his band; he reminded me of Kings Of Leon, but maybe that was the hair.

Dig my favorite new band from the UK called Foals. They're like a British version of The Rapture, only funkier.

They've got nice beats, and you can dance to them. smile

i'm obsessed with panic at the disco right now. totally ignored them at arrival, then got a copy of a live show and was blown away for their showmanship & actual musical talent.

Nine in the Afternoon, lead single from the sophomore disc was released yesterday. very beatles-esque and a marked departure from the sound of the first album. it's on my myspace profile. and theirs. smile
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark
