Most underrated "Soul" artist of the 80s-90s an on...

I'm sorry, I have to give my boy Sananda Maitreya his props. As Terence Trent D'arby, his artistic growth was shackled and he was never able to shake that off here in the states at least.

So many gems that could have been hits and impacted the sound of "black music" if he hadn't been marginalized.

I know there are plenty of supporters in here, so I won't preach, lol. Have y'all seen the Vibrator tour concert vids on youtube? I caught one of the shows in '95 and it remains one of my favorite performances ever.

yes

Sananda,or should I say Terence as he was back then was awsome up until "Vibrator".I saw him live in ´93 and it was great.the clips from the
"Vibrator tour" ´95 is also awsome. His singing is at his best here.

Then something happened. The stuff he's released thru the net recent years
just don't do it for me.It sounds to me like he's lost his chops.
He plays everything himself, but the performance is just too sloppy.
Even the recent liveclips I think his band lack a lot of the power
Terence used to have.
I think Sananda is cool and one hell of a singer, but he should really
get himself a kick-ass backingband and a good producer.

that's just my opinion tho'.No offence to the die hard fans who loves his latest work.
