Yep....this is when Parliament was like Church for young black folks. They brought that element to the streets. Which was very potent. At their best, they combined church AND escapism at the same time. Nothing on earth sounded like Parliament through 75-78. They took over black radio during that period. Sure, EW&F was winning all the Grammies and shit. That's because they had the mainstream. Parliament was all about the "black perspective" FIRST. And that was obvious and clear. So yeah, they excluded many mainstream white audiences. Most white folks couldn't relate to Parliament's concepts anyway. They dug the grooves but.....White middle America is just now catching up to 75-78 Parliament today.
