Marvin Gaye "Just To Keep You Satisfied" I honestly think this (along with Distant Lover) is Marvin's best baby making jam ever! Shame it's so underrated compared to some of his other songs. Now from listening to the lyrics in the song i'm guessing that this was about his tumultuous relationship with his wife Jan, which I'm assuming was coming to an end at the time but anyway I love this song and for the record:

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

First of all, the wife wasn't Janis, it was ANNA GORDY GAYE.
And second of all, I agree, one of Marvin's greatest songs ever.

And second of all, I agree, one of Marvin's greatest songs ever. Well excuuuuuse me, Timmay/Marvin Fan Extrodinaire . I really thought it was about Janis . From what I've read about him, I never got the feeling he was truly in love Anna. I just thought she was more of a mother type figure to him . "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

But seriously, yeah, it was about Anna. Regardless of how she was viewed, Marvin was a sick puppy for Anna. He slaved for her. You should hear his Here, My Dear album. The way he was singing and the lyrics, the guy was lovesick with Anna and though he did her wrong, he felt betrayed by her because he had suspected Anna of wrongdoing. Marvin had just MET Janis when this song was created. "You were my wife, my life My hopes and dreams" That was from '73. Marvin and Janis didn't marry until '77... then divorced in '81.

It's a fantastic song.
BTW, it's actually titled "Just to Keep You Satisfied." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

You're right, I don't know why I wrote it as that. *Edits title* "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

It's really sad that sexual healing is the only song that most pop fans know him for.

I wouldn't say that. "Let's Get It On" and "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" are pretty popular, as is "What's Going On." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Don't forget "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You", "Ain't That Peculiar", the original "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" with Tammi, "Mercy, Mercy Me", "Inner City Blues" and "Got to Give It Up".

Maybe in the US but not where I am. I was also referring to the younger generation. It's quite sad.

Me too,,,honestly Great arrangements from Gene Page. I'm sorry that he and Marvin didn't work alot toghether,,,Marvin's mellow and bluesy tone compliments Gene's moody orchestration, or vice versa.
