If her talent is dance, then SHE IS NOT A SINGER!

of course is NOT... i think her voice is somewhat cute.. but she is a great performer and sweet person...

I mean i would never go to whitney or mariah concert...

i rather see michael, janet or paula on stage.. performing... because thats is their talent.. athough michael has so many dancing, singing, writing and producing.. but thats why he is the best

Yeah 25 damn years ago. Wake up baby girl it's 2008.
Micheal J ain't the performer in the game no more.
Janet has left mike in the dust.
For the record, the only relevance paula abdul has anymore is as
simon's playtoy on american idol.
[Edited 1/23/08 9:51am]
Michael's still bad but he is not 1980's bad or 1990's bad in
2000 anymore. The jury is still out on MJ.

How exactly has Janet left Michael in the dust? lol. In case you haven't noticed, Janet aint as big as she used to be either and her last album flopped big time. She's getting good reviews this time for her new single "Feeback" and good for her, but I don't see how she has surpassed Michael in any way. The only thing with her is that she continues to put out albums regularly, but other than that, no. I'd have to disagree with you there.

I was just messing with alisa. Truth be known despite the lack of success of
damita jo(underrated) and the horrible 20 Y.O yes janet has still been more
relevant in the past ten years than michael. That's the truth.
Obviously michael is the better talent.

Only in the U.S. I agree about Damita Jo being underrated though. I really liked that album, I don't understand why it was panned by so many.

I think DJ was panned by so many because it was a different direction for JJ after the big success of AFY. Another reason was the press/media/radio. They refused to play the trax from the cd because of the Boob fiasco (especially pop radio).

*Sigh*

That is from a US-centric perspective. The situation is quite different in the rest of the world, in particular in Europe and Asia.

Moreover, Michael Jackson is eight years older than Janet. He started his music career in the 1960s, unlike Janet who released her first album in 1982. It is unfair to compare the relevance of artists who started in the music business at such different times.

Of course michael is more relevant in europe and asia. Damn what you expect
when you write songs like heal the world and stranger in moscow and do television shows with children from tibet and fucking madagascar on stage. You are reading to much into it. I am not saying janet is better than michael at all i am just saying her music has been more relevant than michael's the past 10 years and if you want to limit that to the U.S. then so be it. That's what i go by since i do not reside in europe or asia. Michael has been his own worse enemy the last 10 years with legal problems and that is obviously why his music hasn't had the same impact as janet's have.

I actually heard this on the radio the other day. It's Kauai, and they play anything/everything here, but I heard it nonetheless.

it was actually pretty good.

Others were in the room with me, so I had to play it cool, but I felt like I was 14 again, jumping up and down and grinning ear to ear on the inside biggrin

I love me some Paula. I can't help it. She was my first biggrin

I remember back in like 95 or something, an interview with Whitney where she was copping a 'tude about all these people working with Babyface now (including Madonna) and how back in the day, it was just her with I'm Your Baby Tonight in 1990, and no other big female pop stars.

And all I can ever say when I think of that interview is "Paula Abdul... Knocked Out... 1988" biggrin

I know this is way late, but Whitney was correct. "Knocked Out" was Paula's first single, so she wasn't a "big female pop star" when she worked with Face.

Horrible! Sounds like all the other cookie-cutter crap on the radio. And the lyrics are even worse than the music. The whole, "I don't care about anything--I just wanna dance" thing is old. Half of the songs on Paris Hilton's "album" had the same "theme". I can't believe people are raving over this crap.

Paula returns to the Hot 100 this week for the first time in 13 years.

>>>New on the Hot 100 at No. 80 is Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson's "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow," Abdul's first chart appearance since 1995's "Crazy Cool." The song appears on "American Idol" judge Jackson's new Dream Merchant 21/Concord album, "Randy Jackson's Music Club Vol. 1," which arrives March 11.<<<

If it hits the Top 40, there might be genuine interest in an album. If it hits the Top 10, they will probably drag her drugged out ass into a studio! Might have peaked, though.
