Ledisi Lost & Found

I was just listening to one of her songs from her newest record called, "Alright" and I really dig it. I've been hearing everywhere that her new album is an absolute must have because it is a very consistent R&B-jazz album that is smooth and so restrained from much of today's R&B. I also heard that she wrote nearly every song on the album. Is it any good?

Check me out and add me on:

It's a good album. More polished than some of her prior (outstanding) efforts.

WOW. This album is totally amazing. Her voice is so amazing. I hope she keeps doing her thing and doesn't start working with this and that 'HOT' producer.

She has an amazing voice. AOL paired her with Chaka Khan recently.

It's a good CD, but her debut "Soulsinger" (2 versions of it exists - "The Revival" version has added songs I believe) is still her best work. That's the one to definitely have. She also has a bomb ass jazz album called "Feeling Orange But Sometimes Blue" where she does some great covers. That also needs to be in one's collection.

I don't have the Revival version of Soulsinger, but I have the others, and Feeling Orange has a fantastic cover of "Autumn Leaves."

Yeah, she got her soul on in that cut. If I'm using this lingo wrong, the music heads will call me out, but her phrasing and vocal stylings are exceptional.

Yea, I got it too but I've only played it once. This was before all the hype, I didn't even know who the hell she was & her cd was included as a "free bonus" for others that I had actually ordered. I need to sit down and give it real listen.
