My other half has been testing out a Marcus Miller bass this year. It doesn't sound bad at all I love Vic's Yin Yang bass. I love these guys so much. I have so many of highlight albums from all three of their careers, they are all so remarkable. I'd love to see one of these guys play life, to have all three in the room at the same time would have been a real treat. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Marcus I didn't know he put out any solo's. I found one and it was him singing. nothing like the jazz he does or did with grp. nipsy

He released one, hmm... it's been awhile since I listened to it, it's probably from around 2002-2003.... I'd say about half the tracks feature singing in them. anyway, it's pretty excellent. There is NOTHING groundbreaking on it, but just to admire a guy and his chops is something.... It also has some special guests, Eric Clapton, Macy Gray, a couple others, and he covers Girls and Boys by Prince on it. I'd look it up on allmusic to remember the title, but I'm at work, sorry. Hey great that you all liked it. The lp that I have by him came out in the early to mid eighties. he is singing and it isn't that good. you wouldn't have even known that he was a famous bassist, like all the work he did around that time with GRP. tripped me out so I copped it. I was disapointed.
the wooten brothers including wictor in it back in the 1980's didn't have a great lp but hey it is nice to see these two guys tryhing out different things. but this three piece of these guys is great. [Edited 1/22/08 6:09am] nipsy

Three bass geniuses. They should do a CD together and call it "The Three Kings". Now THAT is how "School Days" should be done!
