Is it me or does the R&B scene in the UK seem rather dead?

I remember a couple years ago the British R&B scene was buzzing with famous R&B artists such as Lemar,Craig David, Beverly Knight, Jamelia and so on now it seems rather dead because I just looke at the 2008 Brit Awards nominees and there is no best Urban or R&B category. The only nominee I know who comes close to R&B is Leona Lewis but she is predominately a pop singer.What in the world is happening in the UK R&B music scene.

No, it's not just you. It really is D-E-A-D. There's not even a small sign of life in that fucker.

But it's probably more alive than the US R&B scene. That shit has been on life support since 1998

I must say that the U.S R&B scene is still alive I mean we still have artists who are still out there. We still have Fantasia, Jill Scott.

Well I remember a time when releases from the likes of Omar, Lynden David Hall, Roachford and TTD were getting everyone excited.

We still have artists around like Jill Scott,Robin Thicke, Fantasia, Chrisette Michele, Ledisi, Erykah Badu and so on U.S R&B scene still have their categories.
Brit Awards there are hardly no R&B acts.

Jill Scott = no
Robin Thicke = OH HELL IN THE NO
Fantasia = she can sang her ASS off, but what is she really contributing
Chrisette Michele = the latest hyped up act with no fire or identity(see the new Jill Scott)
Ledisi = snore
Erykah = only interesting because she's one of the few people that's allowed to record and perform right after she smokes herself retarded

The few people I do feel disappoint me with the sprinkling of hip hop elements.

What about the MOBO Awards?

A farce. All the big performers are American. NeYo was the star last year. There was a time when the UK was making a major contribution, particularly Soul II Soul, Omar, Caron Wheeler, Neneh Cherry, and Whycliffe. Unfortunately, garage and grime led the next generation down a dead-end and now they don't know where to go. Sad.

That is a good point because most of the singers that were nominated last year were American R&B singers.
