the song and the video are ghastly. Both have such great imagery.
Those scenes in front of the bulldozer and the dark ocean water. To me this vid worked way better than say... Look Back In Anger.  "Midnight is where the day begins" |

Look Back In Anger. i loved the videos from "lodger" - look back in anger, DJ and boys keep swinging - they all had kind of a shock value/freakshow quality that only bowie could pull off. the video for ashes to ashes is far more elegant and deliberate than those videos, but i think it's meant to be, don't you? | |

Not sure but when I have seen him play it live Gail Ann Dorsey plays guitar while someone else took on the Bass... on the BBC Live Bonus disc from 93 I think you can hear the diff playing styles. Music is the best... | |

I used to have this on Laserdisc and watched it constantly. Steve Strange of Visage is one of the Goth weirdos that show up in the video. | |
