This was a great comeback for her and I used to love it, but it sounds so incredibly generic now.

Yes! Made me wonder if it was a reference to that old joke about cockroaches and Cher surviving the apocalypse.

One of the very few good songs of 1999. Hell, off the top of my head, it's the only good song I can remember from that year.

Aaaah!

1999 was a great year for Cher! I worked at Virgin Megastore and remember selling the HELL outta the CD and all the Maxi-Singles...she was unstoppable...and was just a fun time going out to clubs and losing it to the 'All or Nothing' remix!!!!!

Having said that...she's due for her 2009 comeback next year....she always manages to stike a chord at the end of each decade..

1979 - 'Take Me Home'...huge disco hit
1989 - 'If I Could Turn Back Time' her biggest hit to date..'Heart of Stone' album huge
1999 - 'Believe'
2009 - ? Vegas residency confirmed....what else???

...

Yes. #1 for several weeks and, I think, #1 song that year.

Actually 1987 was a huge musical year but "If..." cemented the comeback.

I really like "Believe" as an album but over the years, I agree that "Living Proof" might have the edge on it!

Yeah! I hated that song when I heard it first on Top of the Pops! But soon grew to love it! Strong enough on the other hand I loved immediatly! Probably helped to have seen it live at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo! Dove L'amore is another great song! Don't care too much for the album though! My favourite album of hers is Heart of stone, which was the first CD I ever bought!

I love the album version of Dov'e l'amore...the slow latin ballad version. It's such a melancolic song.!
