The Rhythm Nation Compilation is not a recent reissue. It was issued in the early 00's as a package containing the original album (not remastered) plus the DVD compilation that had already been issued. This is the tracklisting of a "We <3 Janet" promotional greatest hits collection Virgin released in Japan to promote 20 Y.O. 1. So Excited featuring Khia 2. That's The Way Love Goes 3. If - Radio Edit 4. Again - Piano/Vocal 5. Because Of Love 6. Any Time, Any Place - R.Kelly Mix 7. Got 'Til It's Gone featuring Q-Tip & Joni Mitchell - Radio Edit 8. Together Again - Radio Edit 9. I Get Lonely - LP Edit 10. Go Deep - Album Version 11. Doesn't Really Matter - Album Mix 12. All For You - Radio Edit 13. Someone To Call My Lover - Single Edit 14. Come On Get Up - Radio Version 15. Feel It Boy - Radio Edit 16. Just A Little While - Single Radio Edit 17. All Nite (Don't Stop) - Album Version 18. Call On Me with Nelly - Album Mix 19. Call On Me - Fullphat Remix Drop the Call on Me Remix, remove Come On Get Up (not released in the US) and replace them with Every Time and Son of a Gun and I imagine that's what they would release as a US greatest hits collection. And maybe substitute I Want You for Feel It Boy. Janet has no contractual obligation to Virgin, so we won't see new songs. Virgin also doesn't own any of her unreleased material - most of that is still in the Flyte Time vaults. [Edited 1/15/08 8:28am] That looks pretty good and I agree with most of the suggestions. "Because of Love" was a hit in the US, too, but was pretty fluffy and unremarkable (plus, "janet." would already be represented well with its five, maybe six big hit tracks). "Everytime" would be great to include but unlikely if you ask me.

I am pretty sure Control will have a rerelease in 2011 (it's 25th anniversary), and also the first year they will seriously consider her for the RRHOF. If her comeback is strong this year I expect her to be inducted in 2011 and have a new album that year to capitalize on the induction. Also, do you know if Virgin will release a greatest hits compilation of her years with them? It seems foolish not to.
I have no clue what is going on with Virgin, but then I never did since Richard Branson left. Janet would be smart to do like Mariah and purchase her entire catalogue back for about $20 million. It's worth the investment and that money is nothing to her. [Edited 1/15/08 8:17am] Thank you! Hmm... I think I am going to wait and see what happens in 2008. If there are rumors of a remastering, will Janet fans please post that information on the Org? Thank you.
