As i said before you will never find diversity in radio or video again to get this kind of chart, and also a market that embraces ALL age groups.

A very good pct of that chart were in their 30's and 40's, which in todays market would be laughed at for airplay.

While nothing beats the 80's for diversity . It was about this point of the decade where it started to go down hill a bit.

The only songs I don't remember are the Night Ranger and Corey Hart singles. Not many songs on this chart that I like, but at least I know almost all of them. I'd be lucky if I could recognize five songs on this week's top 40 chart.

Wow! Maybe music isn't getting worse afterall!

A terrible list of songs, though some have stood the test of time:

Sweetest Taboo
My Hometown
Thats What Friends are For

And Mr. Mister was burning up the charts that week!

I always used to use an English pronouncement whenever I mentioned the band "Scri-ee Poli-ee".

Well nothing tops a-Ha's "Sun always shines on tv" though it would go only to number 25, and of course America would give up on them after that, they went on to be one of the biggest groups worldwide, and still going strong. This song is still their biggest hit worldwide believe it or not, it was actually a number one in the UK whil Take on me made it to number 2, and in concert still gets more of a reception to this day. But of course they are a far different band now, they threw out the synths in 1990, and became a "respected" band.
