"SMEAR CAMPAIGN"

I would like to address the "smear campaign" against Dawn Robinson. When she left En Vogue she was deemed the "difficult one," when she should have been deemed the "smart one." Dawn was the only one who spoke up in regards to being underpaid while another group member-who was having a relationship with one of the producers balked at the request of receiving more money.

Dawn moved on to Lucy Pearl. When the money wasn't right in this situation, again, Dawn left. She was once again labeled difficult. Men are considered shrewd when they try to negotiate a fair amount for their services and women are considered a b**ch. Unfortunately, this label has followed Dawn throughout her career.

I know Dawn Robinson and her family personally. She comes from a good family and she is one of the nicest individuals you would ever want to meet. Dawn is a bit shy, some fans have mistaken that characteristic as being distant and aloof. Untrue.

After the "swingers" story broke last week. We were contacted by a man in Atlanta who said he belonged to the same online/offline swingers club that Dawn was falsely linked to. He told me, "I've seen Dawn offline, at the swingers club, she's a regular." When I asked him, when was the last time you saw her at this establishment? He responded by giving me a date and time. I pride myself on my memory, and that date sounded so familiar that I checked my appointment book while I had him on the phone.

The date and time coincided with Dawn's visit to the bay area to visit her family. On this particular evening, I hung out with Dawn at Jack London Square where we hit up Barnes & Noble and chowed down on some Everett & Jones barbeque. When I brought this up to her accuser, he slammed down the phone without explanation.

While these false rumors were spreading like wildfire all over the internet, Dawn was in the dirty south working on a project. Her dream is to save money and buy her grandmother a new home.

I never bought into the swinger's story. I do believe she left the group over
the money situation but i think she could have handled things with the other members better. Thanx for clearing the rumors up about my baby. Now me and dawn can live happily ever after.

I read a interview that she did discussing EnVogue and Warner Bros. Her venom was toward WB and one of the excutives. I can't think of her name right now but, she said EnVogue had a terrible contract and during a meeting they were told to resign at the meeting and that if they did not the group was done.

Dawn decided to walk away and I do not blame her. You should always have your own attorney look over a contract. Perhaps she is angry with the other girls for not having the backbone to speak up.

I don't know much about Dre Allen but plenty of stories are circulating about him being abusive.
