THE BAR-KAYS "Cold-Blooded" album from 1974.

Has anyone ever heard this album? I am having a very hard time finding this album on vinyl. It's has to be VERY FUNKY if it is hard to find. Someone told me that the song "Styling,Smiling, and Profiling" from this album is Tight. Could someone please post this album as a download or at least post a review of this album.Thank you for reading this message. Much Love & Respect.

Got it on vinyl... and I agree, it is hard to find.
Like I told ya in orgnotes, I gotta hook my record player to my comp at some point and rip my vinyl into mp3s or something, but until that happens, no downloads for y'all lol

It's been ages since I last spun the album, so for me to give a more accurate review, I'm going to have to spin it again. I'll try to get back to y'all by the end of this week with a review wink
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I was the one that mentioned stylin, smilin, and profilin was tight.
I heard the track on someone else's cassette tape with a number of different
tunes. Like oneken said the album is very hard to find. I would love to get a
hold of it myself. It's amazing that stax has released some of the other barkay albums on cd but not this one. I am jealous of funkenstein. Man you got to listen to that and give us a review and share some of that funk with us. lol

nod Smiling, Styling And Profiling is tight "Fried hair and the clothes you wear, trying to come off slick; don't mean a thang 'til you use your brain, to see whut makes ya' tick..Ya' better stop Stylin',Smilin',and Profilin'". Wating And Hating is a good slow funk groove. Would I If I Could, Frame Of Mind is cool. Fightin' Fire With Fire is no sleeper cut.

I started to buy several of those early 1970s albums years ago but didn't. After buying their "Best Of" Stax collection, I see that I prefer their Mercury stuff by far. I might go exploring their Stax albums in the future since it was decent, but I'm in no rush because there is a lot of other music by other artists that I need to find first.

Thanks dude. Larry Dodson in a 1994 interview said he was influenced
by sly stone. You cand definitely hear the sly influence on this album.
Man it would be nice to get a copy of this album. This album is free of
instrumentals unlike some of the earlier stax stuff like black rock.

Waiting and Hating sounds nasty! Fightin WIth Fire sound nice too.

alot of the songs are slower and mid-tempo. The more up stuff kinda resembles some Funkadelic and early Parliament too.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Let me get some of dis.
Check out little sister, now that she's on the pill.
She thinks liberation is the no bra look. She reads books on how to thrill.
Now she's a bad thang with a loving game, it's a new dude every day.
Until she use what she has upstairs, it's always gonna be that way.
Stop smilin, stylin, and profilin Yeaaaah!
