fuck no!

she aint no Tina,

Ike is the one who put the Bollocks into the Bullock of Anie Mae.

If she really wants to be Tina,

She needs to make Jay Z beat her ass like a dog.

then again, papa Knowles probably already does that.

According to Carlos Santana on the Tavis Smiley show, he spoke about a time of being around Tina in the later 1960's, and he said simply "divas will come and go, but no one is like Tina"

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

She has one or two songs that attempt Tina but other than that, not even close.

She is the Diana Ross, for all the good and bad that goes with it. Some things are obivious like starting in a group but having the male figure who always saw her as the solo act, etc. And there is a large element of glamour that goes along with her image, the attempt at acting ("Dreamgirls" was her "Lady Sings..." of course not as successful in that it did not help her as an actress).

And let's be honest, when it comes to life stories, Beyonce's is a hellvu a lot more like Diana's. Tina's was more hard fought in every way and she saw this soul in her voice. I listen to those eighties records and some people might say they are too produced and don't touch the more funky, soulful, rocking or real Ike stuff but her voice in songs like "Better Be Good To Me" and the songwriting and the pharsing and the production...forget it! Try that, Beyonce. Just try!

maaann I could see bey doing better be good to me over. she has the energy of tina. ( And the way tooo short dresses) really the two could be the same because tina was always known for dresses and heels, heels, heels, I can see that in beyonce. shit that outside of the boxes and doing music in other relms was the reason her and tina's careers did what it did and that was shoot through the roof.

I truly think so. In fact, I usually say that to people when talking about her. I want some of ya'll to stop getting mad. This always happens in music. It's called "passing the torch". The new school gets something from the old school. Beyonce' isn't trying to be or replace Tina, but in terms of showmanship and all that, I truly think she is.

agreed. it's like I feel fantasia is passing off on elements of patti labelle. just not enough female singers doing stuff and if they could they would probably use elements from another singer they like. I mean can it be said that mariah used elements off of whitney?

...okay...you pretty much had me until you compared Beyonce's Dreamgirls to Diana's Lady Sings the Blues lol . Diana acted her booty off in that film...actually I've always felt that she's a very capable actress that simply has not had enough vehicles in which to shine...Bouncy, however no no no! they need to keep that child as far away from movie sets as possible lol

I guess I didn't say it right. Beyonce was MEANT to be her "Lady" but as someone said about another pop singer, "No, she can't act".

THANK YOU!!!
This song is off the hook, everything from the music to her shoes were hot!
I'm not gonna say she is the next Tina Turner bcuz like Prb said "Tina is in a league all on her own". Me personally I wouldn't compare the two for the simple fact that they both have a huge amount of talent and they both are great 'in their OWN ways'. Yes Beyonce might remind you of Tina bcuz she IS influenced by her, she has said it a million times....even when she was honoring Tina she said that she looked up to her. In this 'Work It Out video at the end she bust a little James Brown move, and even in her recent concerts I see the influence of Prince, plus she even sampled Michael Jackson. So she is showing all of her influences in her music and performances maybe more of one than the others but all of them are there. nod

Beyonce has never ever reminded me of Tina Turner in the slightest way.

The Annual Org We Hate Beyonce Thread.

Seriously, don't people ever think about their thread titles?

The Org is gonna make its mind up based on the title before they even click on it.

Beyonce isn't Tina Turner because she hasn't been around as long and hasn't had a chance to develop and sit with people as long as Turner.

Wait until Beyonce's on her tenth album before you go comparing her to an icon, you're only gonna piss orgers off.

Beyonce is TOO clean, TOO calculated, TOO boring and TOO pretentious to be somebody like Anna Mae Bullock.

Thats an unfair comparision to Beyonce.

While I agree with what Cinnamon234 said, as far as them being the same, style wise, I think it boils down to....Turner being Beyonce's Michael Jackson to Timberlake. See what I mean?

I think today star's don't have original ideas, as far as image/style/music..so they..pick someone and try to copy them.

Justin - MJ with a dash of Prince
Usher - MJ with a dash of Bobby Brown
Britney - Madonna straight up
Beyonce - Tina??

Sounds about right to me.

But the thing is, she will be a legend in the eyes of THIS Generation. This generation's standards of GREATNESS are different than ours....and that is ok. Though I think Beyonce is terribly overrated, she is one of the best out there today and she has made sure she is consistently relevant over the years. That alone will garner her the label of Legend.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

If the "Writers Strike" is resolved (or they negotiate an independent deal like Letterman), there may be a Tina Turner/Beyonce duet during this year's Grammy Awards.

Naw she doesn't have a biography out yet, nor a movie with major stars in it. Plus nobody's beating her ass after shows and performing on stage with black eyes. So no, she don't even equal up to the legend. Beyonce is like a prissy, spoiled princess compared to Anna Mae Bullock.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
