New interview with The Advocate

A new interview with Janet is published in the March 11 issue of the gay and lesbian news magazine The Advocate.

In the interview, Janet talks about what she thinks would happen if one of her brothers came out as gay, why nobody on American Idol has ever sung one of her songs, and whether she is a top or a bottom.

Janet Jackson is a star it's no question but we're a little tired of those "Thriller" dancing routines. And all that other stuff she got going on there's a new generation out here and she only did a handful of features with her brother, Busta, me. I mean she doesn't really do 'em, but she's getting old so it's now it's you ain’t in competition with me give back. I mean that was an opportunity where she could of introduced me, she was on Tyra she was on all those other shows. I didn't really need that and I don't do features so I'm not going to say, "Janet I needed you." But, you called me to do the song, you know I'm an independent female you know I'm a black woman. You already know how much they give us hell, you aint even recovered from the t-shirt malfunction, you'll never be where Mariah is at right now because you're Janet that's the same thing I go through.

So she was in a position of power to reach back and say, "You know what Khia's doing her thing, listen Khia come perform, I want them to see her, I wanted her to be on the song." F*ck Janet. B***h your album ain't gonna sell this time around 'cause you hated.

Khia: Well no. I can't really say that cuz I don't really do features so I can't say that she totally turned her back on me. But a lot of people was callin’ saying show for show; she did the Oprah show, she did the Tyra show and they heard my song, my hook in the background because of course it made the song. So the fans was like, "Khia why you weren't on the show?" I was like well she hated, she got intimidated, she hated. She ain't want to share her shine but I feel like you're Janet Jackson girl and you need to stop. You're a hater you ain't exempt and f**k you, I hope your album flops this time around too. And I meant that.

i was watching the Janet good moringing america... or whatever it is.. they only showed like 10 minutes.. or maybe I work up late... but anyways....

her wig was extremely ugly.. it was brown and reminded me of rick james hair... ... and her outfit was EXTREMELY ugly..... extremely ugly... she should have something cooler on....

then her dance moves were EXTREMELY week.. whomever choreographed those dances DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.... janet wasn't even really giving her all.. it was like a talent show performances.. someone pretending to be janet....

the whole performances really really stinks.... Disappointed...

and the dancers looked really weird... I thought were did she pick those people off the street... I really want to say another word.. for how they look... but Im not trying to start a war...

SHE needs to ditch those cheap... and weak dancers.... I have lil cousins who have more energy and can dance better then that....

Janet, I love you girl, but Donna Summer called and wants her wig back. I understand that she doesn't want another wardrobe malfunction, but that H&M outfit was not working. The cd is FIRE.

I bought the album before goin' to the office and I'm listening to it right now.
I think that Rollercoaster is one of the inanest and most boring, not to say useless, songs ever recorded. What a crappy filler

I have to say that Rollercoaster disappointed me. I thought it was going to be more bangin than it is. It's not terrible and I let it play but it's missing that extra "oomph" that it should have.

UPDATE: I'm just listening to So much betta (and btw: what's up with all this retarded slang in the lyrics and titles - is she trying to sound younger?) and it's awful, ever worse than Rollercoaster. The baby voice could be Jordy's - do you remember Dure dure d'etre babe?

Anyway's I FINALLY got a copy of Discipline!!!!! I got the Deluxe Edition and I can't wait to get home to see the DVD and to hear the album with CD quality!

Well, the outfit was terrible and the wig was simply inexcusable. I've noticed this about Janet lately: her wigs suck. When she has a great weave, it's perfect (look at her video rehearsals on the bonus DVD, and you'll see what I mean). It makes her look so much younger.

Ever since her Oprah appearance in September '06, we've been plagued by what I like to call the So Excited Wig. You know, that straight shit with the fuckin' bangs that looks like it costs $1.99 and pops up everywhere when you least expect it? I've started a Campaign to Destroy the So Excited Wig. Tyra and Beyonce got more realistic shit than that.

Now I couldn't go to the performance since I had important work commitments (all her performances WOULD fall on the fucking day when I have two meetings and a venue viewing). I still haven't seen her live. Whatever.

My boyfriend went, however, and said that the performance was excellent, but the camera angles they used shot it to shit. And what is girlfriend still doing using the stupid props from the video when NO ONE LIKED THE DAMN VIDEO? I want choreography, not Janet posing on some half moon. God, that video was like a lost opportunity to really send this project to the next level.

Thankfully the album is superb IMO and the DVD is pretty fun to watch!
