I have a question

Rock and Soul on 34th street (across the street from Macy's) will start selling the CD today.. Does anyone knows if those cd's sold earlier are counted in the soundscan total for the first week sales ??

Earlier in the thread, I believe lastdecember said that that store and a few others in NYC were going to start selling the CD early and that it WOULD count as a part of first week sales.

For anyone who doesnt want to wait till the 26th Street date and you are NYC, it will be out Friday the 22nd, in shops like Norms Music, Record Runner, and Rebel Rebel, sometimes they get them Thursday Nite, but almost always on Friday, and NO they arent Bootlegs, they are the real thing, so if you are worrying about it counting towards soundscan, that number is already tracked in their order.

It's A Wrap For Janet's New CD. "Discipline" Has Leaked All Over The Internet

PLEASE forget for a second that Janet hasn't been doing that much press for her project. Let's also forget that she has yet to find a hit single, and DON'T forget the fact that though her album hits stores next Tuesday the tone seems to be complete non-interest with exception to the "kids." When will she STOP trying to make that comeback?

But, even if you managed to forget all that it's going to be hard to forget that Janet's new album "Discipline" is all over THE internet. And don't forget the eight MUSIC tracks that have already leaked earlier this week. That's right people I am here to report that Ms. Jackson's new project in its entirety is on two music BLOG sites as of now. Of course I will not say where they are but my I'm sure big internet music heads know where to find it. I put some clues here in this blog to assist you in your search.

I predict that Janet's newest album probably won't even crack the top 10 on the Billboard charts.

If you want to maximize her chart potential on release week, do not buy this CD until it officially hits stores on Tuesday. Street date violations are great for getting the album early, but sales will count for this week's chart, not next week's.

If you feel Janet deserves a #1 album, please wait.

have to buy the cd at virgin to get the free tickets for GMA
and if you want it signed at Best Buy you have to purchase it from there

but i don't have to buy it at virgin now because my friend who invited me to the listening party scored 2 VIP tickets for GMA... so now i'll only have to purchase 1 more

The cd is out here in NYC, i saw it in a few stores already this morning, and got it from Norms. Do not be disillusioned with the whole "soundscan" thing because mom and pop stores like this dont even report to them, depending on where they get it, one-stops, direct buy outlets etc.. thats what calls the order numbers in to soundscan, Chain stores that violate street dates can have that kind of affect but mom and pop are meaningless to all of that, you guys put too much trust in "soundscan" which is our most accurate system but its still not a 100% science of what people buy, do you honestly think they are going to trust store employees to their "science", not even close, but thats another story.

I'm going to pick up the CD tonight since I'll be around 34th St anyway. I can't wait! Rock and Soul is across the street from Macy's right?
