I'm with you. It feels tacked on..and they took out the best line. Still it has it's appeal. I wonder if they are going to release it to radio and see if it helps the single go up..."Feedback" seems to be sutck on the charts.

If I can be honest, the song isn't even a flop, it would've been had the song dropped on the Hot 100 dramatically but since it's still in the fifties and the iTunes listing of the song is actually improving, maybe it'll move up next week. Keep the faith on "Feedback". And yeah the remix with Ciara is basically cut-and-paste.

If it is still an Itunes exclusive is limiting. A point I made when it first came out was that it was only under the artist name "Janet" and if you searched "Janet Jackson", feedback would not show up. I think it has been corrected, though.

Remix of 'Feedback' featuring Ciara is not official
Janet|Xone has confirmed that a remix of "Feedback" featuring R&B singer Ciara is not an official mix and neither Janet nor Island had anything to do with it. Jermaine Dupri has also been attempting to clarify some of the confusion that came as a result of the remix, telling website SOHH.com that the remix was Ciara's doing. "Janet had nothing to do with it," he said. The remix, which features new vocals recorded by Ciara, hit the internet on Friday from an unknown source and resulted in some fans assuming that the remix must be official because of the fact that it features newly recorded vocals by a such high profile singer. source: janet-xone.com

Just heard Rock With U and Luv. Hold your breath. Here's the verdict.
Rock With U: Love the retro '80s groove, but that "Ooo, ooo" bit makes me cringe. Ne-Yo was obviously too busy to write a full lyric so he just put "insert "ooos" here" instead. The melody on the verse is decent, but it would have been nice if they could have written a more definite chorus. Hearing her sing a more traditional melody really shows up her vocal weakness though. She's starting to get into Vanity/Appolonia territory on this track. Surely she's taken some singing lessons by now? Luv: Get the fuck outta my face with this shit! Nice beat though. "Ooo, ooo, ooo/ Ooo, ooo/ Ooo, ooo, ooo/ Ooo, ooo" [Edited 2/4/08 7:34am] “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Just listened to Rock With U again to figure out where the chorus was and I just realised that lame "ooo, ooo" bit is the chorus. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

You mean to tell me folks on here have been listening to music, they "chances are" didn't want to listen to in the first place?! They tortured themselves listening to an artist they don't even care for?! What?! They must've been forced to! I wonder if the org police knows about this...

At the Superbowl party I attended yesterday, I was truly surprised that NO ONE was feeling any of the new Janet songs. I understand many of the reasons why they didn’t like the songs and since I share similar tastes with a few of them couldn't help but wonder, am I so desperate for good music by Janet that I’ll take average music by Janet? Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Luv defines mediocrity. However, both Feedback and Rock With U are good. Are your friends not fans of dance or electronic music? Do any of them like old school Janet Jackson songs? What were their reasons for not liking the songs?

I don't understand why people second guess their taste simply because others don't share it. If you genuinely liked the songs when you heard them, why should someone else's opinion dissuade you? A SuperBowl party doesn't really seem like the crowd that would be into Janet's music, anyway. The reaction on the org has been generally positive, where it was negative before. I suppose you will have to take your pick of which crowd you'd rather follow. But if this were Mariah's new single, I doubt you'd have any problems trusting your instincts in the face of dissent [Edited 2/4/08 9:52am]

But I let it slide because I think the songs are much better than past releases from Janet and I honestly want to enjoy Janet's music again. How can you judge the attendees of a Superbowl party? After all, I was there. We/they are friends who like Janet and just happen to like football as well. [Edited 2/4/08 9:57am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

From the February Parade interview (Janet is on the cover):
JANET JACKSON has attacked her father JOE for cheating on her mother and having affairs when she was young. The Nasty singer admits she still has no idea how her mother Katherine put up with her husband's infidelities - and she'll never forgive her dad for having an illegitimate child with a Jackson 5 fan. In a fierce new Parade magazine interview, the normally coy pop superstar rages about her love rat father and pays tribute to her mother's strength. She says, "It's a very cold world, and to have gone through what she has had to experience, from having polio as a child to those things with my brother Michael, and then for my father to have had another child. "I've been cheated on a lot. I know what that feels like and how that hurts the heart. But, I mean, to give us a half-sister, I can't even fathom what that's like for mother. "For her to stay with my father all these years and never abandon her kids, that's true love."
