I don't really have anything to contribute to this subject.
I just like it when someone posts a bunch of the same emoticons in succession & then that post gets quoted a couple of times. Sometimes it makes the thread page look kinda cool.

There are seven billion myspace acts who play all their instruments these days. It's not a rare thing anymore, and had more to do with how recording projects were organized in the past.

True, even I do it. I guess the interesting part is finding out who is able to create good music by themselves, or finding out certain musicians do even more than you knew, like how Stevie Wonder or Paul McCartney play drums on many classic recordings. But you're right, it's probably more common that famous artists play more than one instrument. Kurt Cobain & Steven Tyler played drums. Jimi Hendrix played keyboards & drums & bass (who knows how well). I even saw Wayne Newton play guitar, and pretty well! My Legacy

Hendrix was apparently just as good a bass player as any of his own bassists.

Raphael Saadiq
Van Hunt Roger Troutman Peven Everett And yeah Andre 3000 does play a number of instruments on record not on a Hendrixian level but enough to make a good song.

But...he plays guitar He plays it in the Hey Ya and Prototype videos and on stage.... Yeah he's been taking lessons for a few years now. He wrote prototype on the guitar and hey ya on acoustic guitar Andre is a genius rapper; limited on instruments but he's a good producer.
