Plus, the Oscars are on ABC, but CBS writers have been allowed back in for talk shows so it's likely since the Grammys are on CBS that there MAY be writers. Just saying.

Won't change the Grammys anyway. They suck with and without writers unless the RIGHT people win the Grammys. And the performers sizzle, which, in many times, it don't.

Shows that were contracted before the strike was set will air without violating the picket line. So we're still seeing the first few episodes of new shows. It's likely AI was contracted for an entire run.

Grammys can still be cast, but they would be barred from using any motion picture or TV-related productions or performances. However, out of solidarity and since some artists and Academy members are also WGA members they might opt out.

when i was in college and i worked in the telefunding department people wouldn't answer the phone or yell at me for calling during the Oscars. we'd bring in the tvs to watch as we called. and msot of the time after the first 30mins we'd stop calling and watch the show.

And from the way it seems, actors sometimes improvise. Well sometimes is the key word, but in other terms if that's all Hollywood need to keep on going, that shows even more fakery. I find it amusing that David Letterman can get back to work with his writers yet Jay Leno is in a fight with writers over some stuff he said!

I'm all for people getting paid for their work, but writer's striking about awards shows. Many awards shows don't get released on DVD or the internet. The only ones that they play more than once are the VMAs and the MTV movie awards...they play the hell out of these two. Plus, the writing for these awards shows has been shitty for years now, so I say fuck the picket line and let's see if having no writers can make these ego feasts...er, I mean award shows any worse than they already are. Damn, what's next? Is the WGA going to make them postpone the Olympics too? If this strike fucks up the Olympics, I'm going to be highly pissed.

Plus, I don't think the WGA told these companies they weren't allowed to play re-runs of these shows, so there's more money for these companies and less for the striking writers. Not to mention that many of these companies probably have a reality show or two that can bring them money. Actors will become obsolete due to real people who go on reality shows and if that happens, than the writers just basically fucked themselves. I think reality TV has had just as high ratings as scripted TV shows have in recent years anyway. Andy Warhol was right when he said in the future everybody would be famous for at least 15 minutes.
