We normally have 2 of these threads a year! BTW...Kier was SOOOO er...sampledelic! Her voice is very distinct. I love how Towa would use her voice as part of the instrumentation. Christian Zombie Vampires

For years I was waiting for her solo album to drop.
Last year I saw here performing a couple of her own songs at Gay Pride Montreal but they really didn't live up to the Deee-lite days. Really enjoyed the old hits though.

Yeah her last words on the solo effort were "whatever". How hard is it for someone to put out music? I'll never understand with todays easily accessable technology, that there are crazy obsticles to over come. Christian Zombie Vampires

It may not necessarily be an industry issue that made it hard for her to put out a solo effort-- it may have been self-imposed. Maybe she just kept tweakin' and tweakin' but never got it to where she wanted it (which I think is probably the case- having worked with two brilliant guys for so long and then trying to do it on your own is a bit daunting). It happens- just ask Axl Rose. [Edited 1/11/08 14:52pm]

Ya know, this whole thread has got me in such a nostalgic mood. Watching this stuff is al very bittersweet. I was listening to the first album on my way home from work tonight and there's the part toward the end of "Deep Ending" where she sings You should have a license to love, your loving dangerously... you're weaving all over myyyy heart and I got completely teary-eyed. I always get goose bumps during that part cuz lets be honest- she freakin' KILLZ it during that part, but something hit me this time that really got me in the gut. I think i'm just getting old.

I've never owned anything by Deee-lite. But I've heard a lot of them, and I love driving around town listening to them with my sig. other. Such upbeat fun. This thread might make me actually order their comp. Really into the vids and I feel like I want to listen to them RIGHT NOW.
