yeah that's surprising,isn't it? It sounds like a surefire #1 R&B hit,to me. "You're a Special Part of Me" was a little more successful (#4 R&B/#12 Pop). The two Stylistics covers were the singles in Britain; "You Are Everything" reached the top 5 over there. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis | |

Critics claim that Marvin and Diana's duets couldn't match up to Marvin and Tammi's but I'm thinking "what's the point of comparing?!" Marvin & Tammi are legendary together but Marvin and Diana were special in their own right together. I love their "vocal chemistry" in "You're a Special Part of Me".  | |

I was reading that apparent;y Diana & Marvin didn't even record in the same studio? Yeah, just as they were ready to record the album, Marvin was seen smoking his weed in the studio and Diana tried telling Berry to stop Marvin from doing that and Marvin looked up at Berry in his "high" face and said "then I can't sing". There's a YouTube video somewhere of the album's engineer Ralph Terrana explaining the story with his brother Russ.
