That's one of my favorite parts along with:
- When she grabs her ponytail
- She and dancers ‘landing’ on planet
- Emerging from milk in red catsuit

I hope so. I usually like her club remixes. I hope she gets Maurice Joshua to remix it.

I like some of Stargate's stuff also. As long as there are no Freeman's remixes, I'm alright. I don't like the vocal effects they use on their remixes. It's not that the remixes are bad, but the effects take away from the song (imo).

Well as i said before, despite MIMI's success it wasnt anything different than she had been doing, it basically was Charmbracelet without a cover song, she just switched up rappers and got lucky that "we Belong Together" caught on, cause lets face it, "Shake it Off" is possibly her worst song EVER, and the only reason it hit, was because of the aftermath of "We Belong Together", also, im not sure everyone can see this, but these so called comebacks are bought and sold, Mariah didnt get lucky, that was an investment made by def jam, you know like when a Big Budget movie has to HIT, well that was the deal here, and dont think its any different than with Janet this year, and with Prince in 2004. Im tired of hearing "oh theyre back", Bullshit, they are doing the same thing they've been doing all along, do we really think Prince's "Musicology" was a "comeback" album? No way the label invested in getting him airtime anywhere, bankrolled his tour and his media coverage to a point where "he was cool again" well its the same thing that happend with Mariah and now again with Janet, same routine different artist.

True, but I do believe it was luck to an extent because not many people put that much attention into ballads and; yes, "Shake It Off" was a weak song to release as a single. I was amazed that a ballad was able to make this album a success, but I guess people love Mariah ballads. shrug Mariah has been doing the same sound for some years now and when 'MiMi' hit big it was called a 'comeback', but where did she go really? She had just done 'Charmbracelet' 3 years prior to releasing "Mimi". Same goes for Prince because he had just done 'One Night Alone' 2 years before dropping 'Musicology'. I guess he made a popularity comeback, because he was never gone. Neither of them really were. The only artists that have released an album recently that I use the word "comeback" on was the Eagles; and that's only because they hadn't made a studio album in 30 years. If it's been less than 5 years between albums, than calling a new record a 'comeback' is a stretch IMO. It's just a new album, that's it. But, Janet's new album hasn't dropped yet and it could have lackluster sales because some people still don't like her due to the Superbowl incident that happened 3 years ago. It's all about label support, good promotion, and smart marketing after everything is all said and done.

Which is why any label, can really buy a hit, tosupport anyones so called "comeback". "Comebacks" are like the new HYPE, people think now everytime an artist comes out after a 3 year break its a "Comeback" which i think is why labels dont want them recording alot, so they can build that Hype. Already im hearing buzz about this "Usher comeback", whats he coming back from? And then when an artist like a Prince or Mariah or whoever has a bigger year, everyone is like "theyre back now", no there not, youre back, they never stopped doing what they always did.

Moto Blanco's been recruited on board. I don't know yet if they're the only ones, though.

I love this video.

One of Janet's best ever.

Great dancing.

The best part about the video is the concept. If some of you would stop bashing the video for a second and consider the video a work of art, you could recognize the brilliance of it.

You are right. I love the track but that video is a joke. I have no idea why LA or Janet would have thought it was a great idea for a music video. I read somewhere on this board that someone said people don't understand or like the video because its a 'European arty' vid. If you want a very good example of a 'European arty vid' watch Kylie's Come into my world.

Its just a very bad vid, i am very disapointed, I thought she would have come up with something good.

Yeah, I heard about that. But, review with whatever Janet does will probably ALWAYS be mixed. To each his/her own.

VC, what do you think of the video?
tho' I battled blind
love is a fate resigned
memories mar my mind
love it is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
and laughed at by the Gods
and now the final frame
Love is a losing game

Well if thats so i think peoples have lost taste in good music clips.
If you look at past vids like Lonley, All for you, Dosent really matter and if this is terrible even worse than the vid for Britneys Gimme More.

She used to have great vids.

Well, I had expected a big dance production, so initially I was eek when she hadn't started dancing by the chorus. I think it's very arty and very much a product of its directer, who they pulled from the London indie underground. When it debuted on 106 & Park, I was struck by how completely different it was from anything on the countdown. It is aimed squarely at the Euro market.

It will never be one of my favourite Janet videos, but I like it well enough for what it is, and I think it will grow on me with time. And I give her credit for keeping her clothes on and trying something different than the normal "in the club" video you would see for a track like this.

No one makes videos as well as they did 10 years ago. Not Madonna, not Janet, not anyone. It's about the state of the art form and not the state of the artist.

I disagree that this is as bad as the Gimme More video, though. I'll definitely take this over an out-of-shape Britney writhing around a stripper pole for 4 minutes and not even bothering to do any choreography in a club video.

Yeah, the video does not dull my love for the track. Most artists today just put out shit videos for the sake of having a video, anyway. Doesn't affect if it becomes a hit or not.

It's true that damn near everything has been done already. So, when an artist, ANY artist reaches for something different than the norm, they're it'll get attention good or bad.
I'm just glad the video wasn't shot in a club. Now, that I appreciated.

I think the imagery and concept in the first minute or so with just the 2 or 3 dancers is pretty cool. I wish they could have built on that more altho I don’t know what they would do. I start to lose interest with the dancers in the cereal bowl and stuff. I think the ending with the white balls could have been done better but I do like the fade out with the slow motion splash up.
