MARIAH CAREY ALBUM NEWS As per Concrete Loop
Mariah fans may be a little disappointed to know that Mariah’s as yet titled project, which was supposed to drop at the top of this year, will not be released until this year’s second music quarter (which means any time after April, pretty much). So it seems as though the whole marketing ploy Jermaine Dupri spoke of, with Janet and Mariah’s albums dropping on the same day, a la Kanye vs. 50 Cent will not be happening. I’m not surprised — Mariah Carey’s follow-up to the hugely successful Emancipation of Mimi was supposed to be released late ‘07, but was pushed back and now is suffering from another change of release date. Could Mimi be a little afraid that this project may fall short of it’s previous hit-laced album? In any event, sources have said that Mariah Carey’s new single is likely a T-Pain collaboration called “Migrate.” Why not, Mariah? If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. http://concreteloop.com/2...more-21573

nah,, she's actually pissed off over the delay. she stated it honestly in a radio interview about 2 months ago that she'd be so angry if she did not have a single or two released before the end of the year. the album got finished long time ago but LA Reid kept asking her to write/record more material.

That Mariah vs. Janet release thing was never going to happen anyway. I don't know why it was even spoken of in the first place. I want it like now but it will most likely be worth the wait. I know she's anxious to release it since she says it's her favorite album. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Sounds like LA wants to focus on Janet for the 1st quarter then Mariah. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Sounds like he doesn't think Mariah's written enough good songs. Mariah always writes her own stuff, whereas Janet seems to have been pretty much shut out of the creative process if "Feedback" is anything to go by. That must inevitably make it easier for LA to assemble satisfactory material. Simon Cowell once said it's a lot easier to work with an artist who doesn't write because you can pro-actively find the material whereas with a singer/songwriter you've got to cross your fingers and hope they come up with something decent. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Interesting that you say that, MM. I don't know about Janet not writing on the project but maybe an official tracklisting can come out this month.

Not yet, Madonna. We haven´t had enough break from you yet. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I wouldn't go that far and say Janet is not involved. I think Janet will probably still write for the project. We don't know if she wrote Feedback with Darkchild or not (at least not at this point). The lyrics sound like something that she may have written. I know that Darkchild is not resistant to artists who write and produce (MJ, Chante Moore, J-Lo, Destiny's Child, etc.). Almost everyone he's worked with has written the lyrics to his tracks. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Musically, it's very obvious Janet had no involvement with "Feedback", and Janet is way too politically correct to be writing lines like "light skin, dark skin, my Asian persuasion" so we can rule her out of the lyrics too. There are an awful lot of similes used in the lyric as well which indicate someone else's hand at work. I'm sure LA wouldn't mind having a few duds on the album so Janet wil probably have a few songs on there that she's contributed more to, but everyone knows she needs fail-safe hits at this point, so I'd expect those tracks to be written by others. Whether the credits will give an honest reflection of that is another matter. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

I saw the credits, "Feedback" is not co-written by Janet.

Almost everyone he's worked with has written the lyrics to his tracks. The lyrics don't sound anything like something Janet would have written. The theme may be her favourite one, but the execution is nothing like her style. "Heavy like a first day period"? That is obviously written by a man with a hip hop background. Not Janet's style at all. Maybe that "do you like my style? yeah, that's sexy, sexy" bit, but the chorus and the main bulk of it were clearly written by someone else. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Songwriters of 'Feedback' According to iTunes, Janet's new single "Feedback" has the following writers: Dernst Emile LaShawn Daniels Rodney Jerkins Tasleema Yasin Dernst Emile is better known as D'Mile and works in conjunction with Darkchild Music and Rodney Jerkins as co-producer on "Feedback." LaShawn Daniels is a long time collaborator of Rodney Jerkins and has written many songs for R&B artist Brandy. Tasleema is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter/rapper from New York.

That's exactly the kind of line up you would expect based on listening to the track. It was obvious a rapper was involved. The similes sound like exactly the kind of thing an MC would spit out while rapping. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Yeah i knew this would happen mainly because in December Mariah said top to mid 2008, labels are in a state of panic right now, alot of cash is going into the Janet project and alot of cash is going into the Mariah album, they cannot flop because it will cripple the label further, thtas the reason they arent coming out together. Also that was a JD shooting his mouth off about something that was never gonna happen, the same way he did about them dueting, he's like a dwarf-kayne west, never shuts up. Another reason they arent coming out together is that they are very similar down to the people they worked with, which is why im guessing Mariah is moved back a bit, i wouldnt expect a single for her album any earlier than April and an album in time for the summer in June. Heres the big difference with todays times and the 80's. In the 80's Madonna,Janet,Mariah could all have a record out at the same time, with singles, and videos, and still all get their time, but not today, the label can only handle one thing at a time, because it thinks people will only buy one of those records, which is stupid, if they are all good with good songs people will buy them all, if they all sound the same and suck, people will say, screw this crap they sound like everyone else. Yay.
More whispering, yelling, and titty shots. Just what MSM needs. She can do better. Is a straightforward dance or gospel album totally not doable? I know it won't keep the lights on, but...pretty pRease.

Actually,Maddy's album is due the first week of April. It's pretty obvious why her album is being delayed. In March, she's being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and so Warner Bros. wants to take advantage of all the press and hype.
