Zapp IV U is the Bomb!

I just got this cd yesterday at the local wreckastow and this album is incredible. How did it pass me by? Lot's of Prince influence on it and it is just pure electrofunk to the core! Who else likes ths album? I'm still getting to know the songs so i'm not sure which are my faves yet but so far it is smokin! cool

I like I and II a lot, but there are only a few I like on this one. It Doesn't Really Matter is an onion shaker. Which ones do you like?

If it's anything like that piece of shit Zapp V (ill ill), Imma pass, thank you very much lol
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

It's not that bad. V was the worst Zapp album. IV was the 2nd worse, but it's not bad. If u liked with Roger's "The Saga Continues", then u would probably like IV.

i like the one you mentioned along with "itchin for your Twitchin" and "rock n' roll" is slammin. overall i think it's a great album. i also have the album with More Bounce but that's the only song i like on it. everything else is weak to me. Zapp IV U is much stronger IMO.

The last 2 Zapp albums just haven't aged well. I remember crackin the wrapper on Zapp IV BITD...it was plenty hot back in '85 (as was the tour).....spinnin now in '08....not so much. The only essential Zapp recordings are the first 3 records, I always thought.

And still some G-R-E-A-T stuff on almost all of Roger's solo stuff. Had "Maxx Axe" on in the car today & up loud...GOOD TIMES!

As essential as Zapp's early albums are, I'll have to say that The New Zapp IV U is still my favorite Zapp/Roger album. It Doesn't Really Matter and Computer Love alone make this a classic for me. Radio People (used in Ferris Bueller) and Itchin' For Your Twitchin' are great too. There's not really anything on this album that I don't like. I remember buying the cassette at Wal-Mart back in '85. I couldn't get enough of Doesn't Really Matter. That was some great technofunk!

thank you! someone agrees with me. to me this album is smokin. the only 2 tracks i'm not feeling are Castaspellome & Make me feel good. everything else rocks. so now i'm curious about Zapp II. is that another good one?

by the way, did you notice that one of the tracks (i think it might be Rock N' Roll) sounds like Jump by Van Halen with an electrofunk twist??
