Michael Jackson to play the O2

30 nights for £30 million!

As reported in the Mirror

Sounds like he wants to outdo Prince

It is happening, but it's nowhere near 30 nights lol.

I'd be surprised if it was more than 10, TBH.

Isn't he supposed to be doing just 5? lol I don't think he would like performing over that number, lol.

I don't think Michael Jackson is physically capable of pulling off such a feat is he?

30 does seem to be alot but a long stay at the O2 like Prince did would probably suit Michael he has always said he doesnt enjoy touring and having to move to different time zones every few days etc and with the kids it would make it alot easier

also i dont think he would have much problem selling tickets as long as they were a resonable price he still has alot of fans even if some of them are in the closet fans

Yeah, my source says 5 and to me that seems like a reasonable and realistic amount of shows that MJ would do.

I'd be suprised if he shows up for a single, full-length gig.

I'd love to see the guy actually, even if he is past his prime, but I just don't trust him to deliver.

That sounds more reasonable. He knows he can't match what Prince did. It'll be a miracle if MJ actually "sings" while on stage. lol

I hoped I don't hear no reports of him miming either. It's a known fact that he's lipped shows. But maybe he needs to stop dancing so much. shrug

I don't think there's any doubt he'll be miming. Possibly he might re-record the vocals in a studio and mime to the re-recording like he did with TWYMMF on the MSG concert, but one way or another, he'll be miming. It's just a question of how much and how obvious will it be. This concert will be almost on my doorstep and yet I still won't be going. lol

I think that's a good idea. He has enough talent to carry a show without the Moonwalk and all the other robotic dances he's been doing since 1983. Let the music and the voice be the stars of the show.

I can't believe I said all that without dissing Michael. eek

lol Cool... I wish the same thing. Michael can do the dancing but don't dance so much that you're breathing heavily and don't sing so forcefully either, lol.

Well although nothing has been confirmed by Michael's camp, I have a feeling this might be true and if that is in fact the case, then I'm excited! It's been years since he's put on a proper show. I wish Michael would do something like this in the U.S. though but since it is unlikely that he'll be performing here anytime soon I might just have to make a trip out to London to see him.....

Michael has one of the greatest and most distinctive voices ever IMO and it's a real shame that he has lip synched most of his shows over the past years in favor of dancing. He's wayy too good of a singer for that. I think he should really rely on his voice this time beause in all honesty as much as I love his dancing, I am a fan of him as a singer first.

He really needs to change things up this time though....like do an acoustic version of "Human Nature" or something, now that would be something unexpected from him! I really hope he does things right this time.
