Recommend a Hendrix album for a beginner... I have Experience Hendrix... and dig most of the tracks. I want to start getting his albums and I was thinking of starting with the debut...
What's considered his best work?

I started with Electric Ladyland.
But any of his 3 original studio albums is a good start...

If you only buy one studio album by Hendrix then it's gotta be Electric Ladyland

As much as I love Axis...I would not recommend it for beginngers. This is the one that took me the longest to get into. Are You Experienced? is definitely the one to get for a Hendrix-newbie.

Agreed get Are You Experienced. The others are great but this really is where you should be at first. You will probably recognise half the songs on there!

Loved it instantly. Axis took me a while a get into, but I love it now. Electric Ladyland can get a little too self indulgent IMO. There is a lot of great stuff on there though. Agree....too bad tA is not available, he is the Hendrix expert. Happy listening! "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."

I'd say go in logical sequence, so it's
, then branch out to a live show and cop the other studio LPs test
