Canadian rocker Bif Naked says she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The 36-year-old, who lives in Vancouver, made the announcement Sunday on George Stroumboulopoulos's syndicated radio program "The Strombo Show."

The Juno award-winning singer, whose real name is Beth Torbert, says she plans on taking things "one day at a time," and that she has never been one to give up when an obstacle is placed in front of her.

In her interview with Stroumboulopoulos, she says she found a lump two weeks ago during a breast self-exam and immediately went to see her doctor.

Officials with her record company say she will undergo surgery this week and also has radiation and chemotherapy scheduled.

Naked was married three months ago to sports columnist Ian Walker.
