I love the intro. His spoken intro that was taken out, was VERY fascinating. That whole thing about "Some people don't understand me.." yada yada yada. It was like Michael kinda summing his own life and then concluding it with, "Just lay next to me for a while.." Interesting stuff.

Another thing about this track, beyond on the video, was it was the last single to be released from the Bad album. What a beautiful way to conclude the album's run, with such a beautiful song.

While I don't listen to it much, when I do, it makes me feel calm.

"beat it" was never IMO that great of a song to me. over rated maybe. "rock with you" is classic. but i prefer "Liberian Girl"

I always thought he should've called it "American Girl" or "Librarian Girl" but something else and it would've been his biggest hit ever. It's one of his best vocals, no doubt.

Liberian Girl use to bore me, but as I got older I started to appreciate it more. My favorite part is almost towards the end of the song when he gets agressive..."I LOVE YOU, LIBERIANNNNN GIRLLLLL!!!!"
