Despite her daddy trying to pimp her out to the nation at large, it seems that she has fallen on hard times. Her most recent album, A Public Affair, has sold less than 500,000 copies in the USA, and her most recent movie, Blonde Ambition, may have set an all time record for lowest movie gross of all time.

Granted, the movie was only released in eight theaters in Texas, but it grossed only $1,190 in the weekend before Christmas, which means that only 48 people managed to pay to see this film (and probably kicked themselves for doing so).

On top of that, she went to see her current boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, play against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he subsequently went out and had the worst game of his professional football career.

I heard she's getting ready to make a country album.Her fifteen minutes are almost up

Not the lowest of all time (or for that matter, currently).

A movie that I think was called "ZYZZX Rd" or something like that (which is named after some real dead end road in Arizona or somehwere) grossed $30, which was then counted as only $20 because one (or maybe 2) of the people worked on it and got discount (or free tickets). It wasn't excatly mainstream but it did star a soon to be discovered Katherine Heigl.

Also, recently a very limited released Chevy Chase movie ("Funny Money", which probably not a fitting title since it made none and looks unfunny) made something like $1800, but was later reissued on video. Also, it was only in four theathers in LA (some confidence...did they do that just for oscar consideration?), so in comparison, I guess it's a hit I would have to look it up.

But that is pretty awful considering I'm sure more than a few million was pumped into this thing and Luke Wilson is a co-star (looks like his career is down the toilet too with most of his recent choices). It also got some attention through media outlets. Something like this is a real bomb that will go down in infamy!

But there again we are quoting a soundscan figure, which, honestly for an album that only had one single, bare;y, to still go gold in this day and age, is actually kind of a strong showing, as for her movie, i mean come on 8 theaters, plus its being released on DVD and everyone knew that, does anyone really even go to the theater anymore? Its like a "why bother" attitude the shit will be out in a month or two, i can watch it at home, i dont have to go to a theater and be with other morons, thats how people think now. And also Jessica Simpson really has NEVER been a strong seller, i mean outside of that "boom" with her Newlywed show, her albums have been gold-platnum success, single wise she hasnt been a big singles artist in the market, so what did everyone think? And i doubt her "15 minutes" are up considering shes been out about 9 years now, and her other investments, fashion lines, etc.. are flourishing to a point where, she doesnt need an album or a movie. But i do agree "Public Affair" was her first really good overall album, i think she is best suited to be a sexy-dance artist rather than a ballad artist, though she has the voice, she may go country-ish, since she has the Dolly Parton thing down. As for the Tony Romo thing, the guy is NOT a big game player, he chokes and will again.

anyways i used to like her and think she was so cute... when she was married to nick... i kind of stopped like her after the divorce... i was upset.. cause it seemed like they ended their marriage for no good reason... and she didn't try hard enough.... nick really loved her.. that was a great man... and she should pray that she finds one like him again....

jessica can sing a little but then her vocals get annoying after awhile... some of her music is cute...but she never appealed to me... i would buy her singles but could never imagine buying the whole album....

Her clothing line seems to be doing ok (from what i've heard). I actually enjoyed her last album. I think people are over her, but a country album would do her justice. When I listened to her last album, she sounded like a country singer trying to do pop music (which it was).
