Why did Timbaland and Ginuwine part ways

I think Ginuwines voice is good, smooth and appealing. He fitted Timbalands beats so well. Its a shame they parted ways. I miss the days of Aaliyah, Missy, Ginuwine, Magoo and Playa with Timbaland. But nevermind.

Good question. IMO his career fell off when he left Timbaland..

That's possible. Tim looks like he could go both ways.

I think Tim probably wanted to make big crossover money and Ginuwine was too ethnic to have that crossover appeal.

For the same reason Queen Dre effed with Eminem, Black Eyed Peas got a white girl, and Pharrell the jolly sewer rat effed with Nsuck, crossover money.

With black artists Timbalina had to work twenty times harder to stay "hot" with young, black audiences and keep his artists as well as himself afloat. With mainstream audiences he could make millions off the lamest of his lame ass "music." He saw it work for everyone else.

Plus Justin fucks for tracks, hard.

There was also the whole sinking ship period. Aaliyah's wack ass was carrying the whole camp for the most part. Then she's gone and they all freaked. Most of them got dropped or ended up being studio backup. He probably figured he had to do that to eat or he'd end up going the way of Teddy Riley.

Teddy Riley ended up where he is by fucking off everyone he worked with. Hardly anyone has a good word to say about him. And he owes money big time to the mob...

I always thought it was because Ginuwine wanted a new sound after the almost entirely Tim-produced debut and 100% Ginuwine, but maybe it really was due to more personal reasons. Who knows...

And as for the whole "Tim likes the dick" thing, where are people getting that idea, anyway? lol

I don't know, but I'm still trying to figure out how Ginuwine's best track, "I'll Do Anything/I'm Sorry," was left off his hits album. disbelief

everyone he's worked with. He sure as hell fucked over his guy bandmates more

Don't know about ginuwine but when keith debut in 1987 it was reported that
he was 32 at that time after working on wall street a number of years but he
seemed to get younger well into the mid 90's. He sure as hell look every bit
of 52 now which is still not old but older than he portrays himself to be.

Timbaland switched even before Aaliyah left... he had wayyy more production on 1996's One In A Million than 2001's Aaliyah. Obviously Ginuwine wasn't as popular after his second full-length album dropped which was ALL Timbaland.

Timbaland was focusing on his label Beat Club, then after that decided to branch out into pop, even leaving Missy to complete 2005's Cookbook with very little of his help. He says he is working on her forthcoming album by the way, in this month's issue of Scratch, but acknowledges that they aren't always on the same page creatively like they were ten years ago.

I don't think you can really blame him either - the recent successes of Loose and FS/LS speak for themselves.

Now he is trying to build Mosley Music Group

Exactly. nod

Also Ginuwine mention in past interviews that Timbaland couldn't always make time to work with him directly like he use to when Timbo produced the first 2 albums.

Hey Cee, I think you can ask this question better than anyone:

Do you think Timbo is sick of making hip-hop altogether? I recall that Timbo would rather listening the rock & electronic dance more often.

he isn't the only one....

You would think with as many people that I hear hates where hip hop is right now, that hip hop would be at a point of changing, but somehow, it's almost as if the more "celebrities" voice their opinion of the state of hip hop/R&B currently, the worse it gets.

If I hear that awful, ghetto "Soulja Boy" one more time, or the awful "Bed" song by J. Holiday i think i'm gonna shit on the industry.
