Counting Bars Hi all,
I am posting on this forum as my query is music related. I bought my first turntables last April and have been practising a lot on my own but I have decided to enroll on a DJ course just to see if I had the right approach. I had my first lesson yesterday and it was very interesting and exciting. I found out that I drop mix most of the time which is fine but my tutor told me that I should start counting the bars of my tracks to be able to cut into other tracks accurately. It will be confusing at first I am sure, but if I want to be good that seems the way to go. If any of you have turntables, what is your approach to mixing?, do you count bars or not?. Your input will be appreciated! "Girly Man Man Man..... Kill her kill her kill her"

everything is on a 8 count, dont use a fucking Dj course jeez, thats it i gotta post a mix because the only way for young dj's to learn is to feel what the dj is doing not take a course.

Well I was like you at first, I was not too keen on the idea but I needed a feedback and my friends are not into DJ'ing or music that much. I can feel what tracks go well together but I cut R1 into R2 the way I feel but I was not sure if it was the right way. It feels right to me but a second opinion is always good. I also wanted to learn more about the technical side of things. I wish I had a mentor but I also wanted to do things right (also meaning playing in public), so this is how I decided to join the course. "Girly Man Man Man..... Kill her kill her kill her"

I believe you no doubts but I really think you learn a lot from others especially with music. By any chance are you in the U.K? "Girly Man Man Man..... Kill her kill her kill her"
