Do We Like her Voice? Rihanna

http://www.youtube.com/wa...10rdzEzujY

Here's the acoustic version of Umbrella. This is my first time hearing it. I'm just trying to figure out if she can sing or not. If not, what is it that she can do?

Her voice is bland. She has no range. bored

But I do like "Umbrella" and "SOS." She is a singles artist. And if she continues to have great songwriters and producers work for her, I think she will be around for some time.

I would like to add that she is obviously quite horrendous live like other music video artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, and Madonna. But the latter two have survived for quite a long time with good music behind them. Rihanna could do the same if she works hard and continues to have luck with good songs.

I find it kinda annoying. I'd rather look at her than hear her sing, frankly.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

The fuck eek

Diane doesn't have the range but she does have the depth. Her staying-power proves it.

Whereas, Rihanna is just another "flavor of the month".

I like Umbrella mostly because of the lyrics & the beats of the original version. But Rihanna's vocals were always weak. But if you want to hear better vocals, try the cover version by Mandy Moore.

The girl is cute (good product) but she is singing out of tune, she has no vocal abilities (boring) and she sounds the same on all her tracks.
She has the "right" people around her and I am afraid her songs will be invading radio stations for a while. My only way to escape today's musical crap is to stop listening to the radio. They play the same songs all day long and the new generation think it is great.

Maybe she and that other goat sounding heffa, "Shikira" can sing a duet called, "Hips don't lie, under an umberella".

This version really shows how weak and thin her voice is to me. It's unique but not in a positive way. It's nothing special at all.

biggrin "good girl gone bad" I do recommend it! It is very bubblegum pop and like many have said Rihanna has a good team behind her so may last for a short while in the mainstream cool The acoustic version there does show a few flaws but i think she is very well packaged wink The duet with neyo has grown on me and having seen her live last year (am tempted to see her again if i can get tickets) find it all very refreshing biggrin Rihanna is following on from beyonce but in her own style really! cool

Shes just a cute girl to put out there to sing whats handed to her. Vocally she is bland and doesnt have any range, in fact her voice seems to be stuck in one note, i noticed this when i heard her sing on Carson Dalys show and then some other live concert footage from her tour. But she could grow into someone that gets past these things, but so far im not seeing it, but her effort is somewhat there, though she needs to get more into her own music rather than being supplied every single thing.
