Are There Any Reggae Fans In The House?

I have come to realize that I love songs that have a reggae/jamaican/carribean feel to them. I just love the sound and the vibe of that type of music. Is there anybody else who digs this type of music?
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'm not a hardcore reggae listener

but I like Bob Marley's stuff
(i.e. "War", "Sun Is Shinin", "Trenchtown Rock" etc)
aformentioned, it's real easy going
laid back & get high music

I also like Sister Nancy ("Bam Bam")
and Chaka Demus...

reggae is hit or miss with me
I usually like the popular stuff like
"Dolly My Baby" by Supercat
(which was popularized by a remix
featuring a then unknown Biggie Smalls)
"Girl Dem Suga" by Beenie Man
"Worker Man" by Patra

you know... the popular stuff
I'm not really into the different
branches of reggae, riddim, dancehall, etc
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

Its a shame, man.

You'd think that somebody who grew up in Harlem and all over New York would know PLENTY about reggae, but I don't know SQUAT about it.

I only got into Bob Marley recently(War was the one that started me as a fan). I also remember hearing a remake of the Dramatics' I Wanna Go Outside(In The Rain by a reggae group recently, can't remember for the life of me whats their name.

I love all those guys listed above. Especially Peter Tosh. He was an intense dude. And don't forget about Toots and The Maytals.

Any Minneapolis folks remember Ipso Facto?

Willie Nelson also put out a reggae album I dig alot

The Wille album is suprisingly good. The Stones do alot of reggae to. They're better than alot of reggae bands.

I like some bob marley classics. I liked a lot of reggae songs in the 90's, but can't stand it anymore aside from Shaggy. Some notable favourites were:

Murder, She Wrote-Chaka Demus and Pliers
Slam-Beenie Man
Anything For You-Snow, Beanie Siegal
Everyone Falls In Love Sometime
Mr. Loverman-Shabba Ranks

and a few others that I usually recognize but don't know the title or artist

I love no doubt however, though I recognize they borrow from a lot of island music including reggae and ska

Sorry, but the "Mighty Sparrow", is not a Reggae artist. He is a calypso singer.

The Upsetters' (Lee "Scratch" Perry) Super Ape album is essential listening.
