Eddie Kendricks - "Intimate Friends"

Silky soul music.

"Intimate Friends"

An endless love, I've found in You
Warm and inspiring, in everything you do

Two joined together, to give from within
To share a love as, intimate Friends

Intimate Friends (so glad to be yours)
Intimate Friends (whoo-oo-oo-oo)
Intimate Friends (sharing hours)
Intimate Friends (and I know)

(and I want you to know)
Your love, takes me higher
My life, you inspire
Fill me with love and desire
Your love, takes me higher

Our love shines brigther, than the morning sun
Two hearts together becoming as one
You're a part of me - that never dies
Love undivided, 'cause we see eye to eye
Cause we're....

Intimate Friends (so glad to be yours)
Intimate Friends (whoo-oo-oo-oo)
Intimate Friends (sharing ours)
Intimate Friends (and I know)

Your love, takes me higher (baby baby)
My life, you inspire
Fill me with love and desire
Your love, takes me higher

So glad to be yours
Intimate Friends
Intimate Friends

Yeah, you're so warm
Brighter than the morning sun
you and I will become as one

Your love takes me higher (higher) higher (higher)
My life you inspire

Intimate Friends

Just to be your (Intimate Friend)

That's my favorite Eddie K. joint too! It's so evocative, funky and personal. I also think it's one of his most stunning vocal performances.

I'm not too crazy about The Home of Johnnie Maye, but Date With the Rain is a KILLER track. That is one groovy song, and it has that Temptations style to it. He sang the hell out of that song.

Am I crazy or does "Unbreakable" by Alicia Keys sound exactly like this?

That broad has been doing a lot of copying lately.
We gonna come on with the come on, gonna get down with the get down!

nod Actually she copied its sample from a 1994 hip-hop soul track titled "For Old Time's Sakes".

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
