My dad was pretty good friends with ole' Bobby. I met Bobby when I was like, 5 years old. Bobby's German Shepherd had puppies and he called my dad asking if we wanted one. So I went with my dad over to Bobby's house and I picked out one. I LOVE "Harry Hippie". One of my all time fave songs by anyone. The album is great, as well. The scenerio I gave about getting a puppy from Bobby always reminds me of this album and "A Woman's Got To Have It" and "Harry Hippie" which is a song about Bobby's brother.

Harry was a member of the gospel group, The Swan Silver Tones.

Not sure if he was a Valentino hmmm

They change their names to The Valentinos after started out as The Womack Brothers (including father, Friendly Womack), as a gospel group discovered by Sam Cooke. biggrin

Bobby is definitely a Clevleand Classic. It don't get no better. I grew up on some Womack.

Irronically, Cooke had told Bobby, if something should happen to him , be sure to look after his wife. After Cooke passed, Bobby married his wife. As a matter of fact, he wrote a song about it which appeared on on one of his albums many years back.
