There are a lot of good ones named and not named yet, but my vote would go to this one, which is really just on another level:

Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I just bought this one after seeing the movie - it's got some nice original stuff and a cool mix of songs:

All of the above are great choices. To them, i'd like to add these soundtracks

"The Graduate" by Simon and Garfunkel. Used to like listening to this on my walkman as a teenager, in the garden, in summertime. Ahh cloud9

Also, the music for the Omen. I had this album for the second film, "Damien: Omen II". Ppl often mistakenly think the music from Carmina Burana was used for these films, but it was actually Jerry Goldsmith's excellent original score.

But my fave of all time, is the theme from Superman. Awesome, adrenalin-rush hero music bow

I agree, LS. John Williams outdid himself on this one by surpassing even his Star Wars score. With Star Wars, he was part of creating a mythology. But with Superman, he captured a modern day mythology that had been around for decades before he composed it. Other than Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, no theme song for any other superhero or fantasy movie comes close.
