MADONNA plans to overtake PRESLEY's record!

Wednesday, 26 December 2007

Madonna plans to overtake Presley's record
Pop superstar Madonna has come up with a plan to overtake rock legend Elvis Presley's record of producing Britain's maximum no. 1 hits.
Thesun.co.uk reports that she plans to re-release all her big hits as downloads this year to celebrate her 50th birthday. The move might upset her former label Warner because they want to make the most of her previous catalogue before she leaves them.

Haven't Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, and/or The Beatles taken down most of Elvis' records thus far?

Brooks is currently, the most CERTIFIED ALBUM artist of all time in the US.

CERTIFIED: His record company periodically readjust his albums shipments. Many other artists parent company don't put as many efforts. Secondly, most of his albums are double albums or box sets, which overgross his real sales. Hence, according to Soundscan, his album sales stands at 66 million at last count vs 120 million for RIAA.
Properly, Elvis has still certainly sold more albums. By latest account (made by a chart expert), he sold over 132 million albums in the US vs about 80-90 million for Brooks.

ALBUM: Garth doesn't sell any singles. Elvis and MJ have sold 55 and 35 million singles respectively in America.

PS: Garth is unknown outside US.

I've never liked Garth Brooks, his whole fanbase annoys me, along with him. He had the one track, when he was in his whole "Chris Gaines" phase, but beyond that, him and his fans' annoyance factor is only matched by his lack of talent.

Sorry for ranting but it felt good. cool

Yes, I have to agree with this. Garth Brooks is not nearly as well known outside the US as Michael Jackson or Madonna or Elvis Presley.

she's not going to beat Elvis' record in the UK if these are download-only releases. physical copies are going to have to be shipped for her to do that.

also, in the original post, how do they figure it's going to upset Warner Bros.? it'll be Warner Bros. who's releasing them specifically to take advantage of her catalog before she leaves them, i'm betting.

odd article. confuse
