Blonde Redhead 23 (or something like that) I might have spelled it wrong because that's how little I know about this release.
I keep seeing it on orger's playlists (including Chri$, and that other Chris), or lists about 2007. When I got to the store, I forget to check it out, and I'm not even sure what genre it is? But I sorta have started to trust you guys on this sort of thing. Maybe you can direct me to the lead cut or something. I haven't seen too much in magazines about it either. I'm worried this release might fly under my radar and I might like it! I can't really pinpoint "if you like _____, you would like 23." if someone dares to relate. Help!

ooh, it's my favorite album of 2007.
but it's not an album that i went nuts for when i heard it, nor do i think it's anything explosive or revolutionary or life-altering. it's just a really nice, melodic album of po-mo pop music that i know i'll be spinning for years to come, because the more i listen to it the more it conforms to the shape of my brain (or vice versa?) and it just sounds comfortable and comfortING the more i hear it. so which songs do i recommend? "publisher" was the first song that hit me. the title track is also very nice. right now, my favorite song on the album is "top ranking". their videos kinda suck, by the way. they're not the worst, but nothing really interesting either. and i wasn't crazy about them live. backing tracks. it's a really nice album, though. one of my faves.

That album is good but a good record to start with is Misery Is a Butterfly. 23 is basically a continuation of Butterfly.
I have been into Blonde Redhead for years (one of my favorite bands). Personally I like their earlier stuff more (more experimental and out there). I really love In expression, Melody of Damage Lemons, and Violente'. You can't go wrong with this band. Good shit!
