dannyd5050's right.
There was 'Don't Go' and 'I Promise (I Do Love You), 'No One Can Treat Me Like U' and 'I Want To Know Your Name'. I Promise (I Do Love You) They released a self-titled EP in 1983 that contained 'Don't Go' and 'I Want To Know Your Name'. A year later they released 'Contact' that contained the other two above mentioned tracks.

That would be "Don't Go". I remember the first time I heard Ready For The World a few years later. I think the song was "Tonite". When I first heard it on the radio, I thought it was a new song by Dreamboy because it definately has a "Don't Go" sound to it. Andy is a four letter word.

I Promise sounds like "International Lover" part 2. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I have their first album on vinyl.Only contains 6 tracks, including the first single "Don't Go".My favorite song is the uptempo funk number "Walk The Streets",which recieved some airplay in my area in early 1984.They sounded like an early version of Ready For The World.

Jeff Stanton never could sing. But I still like their stuff pretty well. The ballads, of course. There were a couple of other tracks on 'Contact' that I liked. 'Friends' and 'So Hard To Say Goodbye'. More than anything else, there's a lot of nostalgia attached to those songs for me. I wouldn't trade 'em...

I agree, the lead singer was pretty horrible Couldn't sing to save his life.Sounded like a second-rate Prince clone, struggling to hit those high notes.

The thing is they have other songs where he doesn't sound so bad. But on the ballads his style is so exaggerated. It's funny at times. But the music serves him well, so it worked back then.

For back in the day I thought Jeff Stanton (I never really knew his name til now) could sing pretty well. Of course it was Prince-style. Low-speak, falsetto, etc. I thought when I first heard "I Promise" ('86?) that Prince may have written it for Dreamboy. Of course I was wrong but like daPrettyman said it had that "International Lover"/"Do Me, Baby" flava to it. An album cut I really like from Contact is "Friends". I may be the only person in the world but I really dig that cut...
