Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, before the show was canceled, featured a group of New Orleans musicians playing a stirring rendition of "O Holy Night." It is, without a doubt, the most striking arrangment of a holiday classic that I have ever heard. That Snuffy Waldren deserves whatever awards he wins.

The clip used to be on Youtube, but it looks like NBC's lawyers intervened and had it removed.

At any rate, I listen to it throughout the year.

I must be getting old or turning Scrooge all of a sudden because I'm totally not feeling Xmas songs.

It just reeks of a way for some artist to make an extra buck. "Oh I know how to pay those back taxes I owe, I'll do some Crimmus joints."

But "This Christmas" is the shit. I want to beat the hell out of whoever let Chris Brown sing it. disbelief

lol

I don't mind the "crimmus" joints. lol

What I mind is listening to 4 different verisons of Silent Night within a 45-minute period on mainstream radio, or hearing that godawful "Christmas Shoes" song over & over & over...while obscure jems like some of the ones mentioned above go largely ignored.
