MJ's recycled anthem Just heard the much-touted "How Much More Can I Give" on the radio...that song with like 30 different artists singing on it.
Michael Jackson has a big role in it...I'm assuming that he put it together, because it's just a recycled version of "I Just Can't Stop Loving You". MJ seems to have not 1, but 3 vaults that he can turn to for new music; 1. Thriller 2. Bad 3. Dangerous By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Thats the song MJ got caught having a Gay Porn Producer/Actor... produce with him..
the "odd" thing is this Porn Guy has NEVER had any music credits at all.. SO how did MJ find him?? and decided to have him Produce any song for him.. but a Sept 11th Tribute song? theres allot more going on here.

what difference does it make? the Industry has Label Heads that musically Tone Deaf but yet they are CEO's care to explain that? everybody knows you don't like MJ so why do you waste your time Bashing the Cat? you think MJ will go away? doubt it hardly.as far as the song goes it's a recycle but so are most Artists work after a while.I mean the Cat has been in the Business 30 plus Years.if the Message strikes a chord with People then I say more Power.I'd get it for free doubt I'd buy it.it's Alright track but MJ has alot of Message Songs something even His Strongest Critics can't deny?the "odd" thing is this Porn Guy has NEVER had any music credits at all.. EARTH SONG, MAN IN THE MIROR, MONEY or WHATEVER HAPPENS oh my godness, now songs like these I can dig becoz they have an 'obvious' meanings behind them that I can relate to. But when you say 2 me "Make the world a betta place" where is everything so foggy?? . Hell, when I'll start figuring out how to make the hood I'm living in a betta place then I'll listen 2 these songs. MJ is one good lyrics writer but he can be sooo damn cheesy sometimes LOL neva da less, I'm down with my brutha 2 the fullest no matta how cheesy his shit can be!

I never thought 'We Are The World' ever worked in the first place. As a song anyway, of course it raised loads of money. There were just too many contrasting voices thrown together that didn't work. But 'Do They Know It's Christmas' sold the same as WATW and is a genuinely good song.
It's the same with WMCIG. OTT vocals from people who want to show off what they can with the one or two lines they've been given to sing. In fact the only redeeming part of the song is exactly the same as WATW - the bridge when MJ sings his lines. Do people really go for charity singles anymore? That dreadful cover of 'What's Goin' On' was released not long after 9/11 and it didn't do that well. I guess if people want to give to charity they'd now prefer to donate directly than to purchase a crappy single they'd never listen to anyway, because who knows where half your money is going when you buy music for charity? Saying that, the new album for Warchild has just been released and it's meant to be quite good. It's a reprise of the 'Help' album that was released in 1995.

have to disagree Ellie, We are the world is far superior to 'Do they know it's Christmas'.
As for WMCIG, I had an mp3 of this for the last 3 months,i've listened to it once, infact i deleted it.It's really poor. [This message was edited Sat Oct 12 18:46:33 PDT 2002 by Thecherryloon]

...or he can just sit back and do nothing like 95% of the peeps. The fact is, he is doing something. I don't see a lot of artists taking this road.
The people who write, produce and per4m on these charity singles r giving of their time... what have u done? I think the act of doing something should speak volumes... regardless of whether the song is ur style or if u dig it or not, give a brotha a break 4 attempting 2 bring about change in a positive manner! He did this b4 he had any bad publicity and he continues 2 do it 2day, whether u like it or not. If u can do it better, or bigger than Mickey...by all means, lead the way...otherwise and let a person attempt 2 raise ur consciousness; raise some much needed money 4 charity; and raise our spirits by doing exactly what he does best... ...write, arrange, produce & per4m. Go on Michael, make that change! |

The thing is, :I: so would like 2. But it seems that in the contemporary state of the music industry, real musicians ain't getting a look-in. Propoganda and scandal. :I: think I CAN do it better, JEW can do it better, THECLOUD9MISSION can do it better, JASON DODSON can do it better. We would definitely lead the way and probably do it BIGGER 2. but the industry r afriad of ppl who are only 2 aware of loopholes. which is Y they sign the cream of ignoramia or stick 2 media 'icons' such as our MJ here. :I:'m not knocking MJ, but when U ask what we've done, :I: find it unfair because unlike MJ, we do not (as yet) have such a mass forum... just my A revolution is about 2 happen. MJ bringing issues into music? Get a grip on reality. He just does what will be good for his own bottom line.
Just like his latest charge against racism in the music industry. Imagine how much more powerful that would have been if he'd brought that up during his Thriller period, when he was still black and taken seriously. But he would have alienated all his white fans, and MJ wasn't having that. While Prince grows musically and tries new things, Invincible has shown that MJ is musically retarded, unable to break out of his Liza Minelli and Elizabeth Taylor style world. Watching MJ lip-sync (badly) on his 30th Anniversary concert is a testament to how sorry MJ has become.

But since we're on the topic...
Shygirl,Prince didn't start his "crusade" against the music biz until YEARS after his 'Purple Rain' heyday.Imagine how much more powerful HIS stance would have been if he had brought this all up in 1985.How can you knock MJ when your own hero didn't rebel against the industry until years after the hit records stopped?? "While Prince grows musically and tries new things..." Not everything Prince does these days is "new".Recent albums like 'New Power Soul' and 'Rave' do not show much musical growth, stop kidding yourself. it's So Funny because Some People don't even Know what MJ has been through.they need too go back to 1975 when MJ&His Brothers except Jermaine left Motown&Had too Pay 600,000 thousand Dollars&Lose there Name Jackson 5.so MJ isn't New Too Industry Politics He faced this Issue early on In His Career.¬ too Mention the Threat of Berry Gordy holding Another Act Called the Jacksons Waiting in the Wings.and MJ does Have His Masters& 50% of Sony&ATV Catelog no Comparrison.Prince while putting up a Argument&Raising Valid Points really doesn't have alot too Show for it IMHO.Musically they both have had Better days IMHO.they are each a Case of Extremes&with no Happy Medium in Between.Prince puts way too Much Hit&Miss Stuff IMHO.MJ doesn't put out Enough&He is trying too Hard at Appealing.but they both are about in the Same Boat&Forever Linked.Shygirl is a MJ Fan"IN THe CLoset" HEE HEE!!Shygirl,Prince didn't start his "crusade" against the music biz until YEARS after his 'Purple Rain' heyday.Imagine how much more powerful HIS stance would have been if he had brought this all up in 1985.How can you knock MJ when your own hero didn't rebel against the industry until years after the hit records stopped?? Interesting point that was brought up about the "crusades" that both MJ & Price have undertaken.
You can't take the stance about them not willing to raise any issues during their "heydays" because face it - when things are good, you don't know what's wrong. Then when you hit a sour note, your bad deals are thrown in your face. The difference between MJ and Prince is that Prince outright declared his war in the name of regaining possession of his masters & breaking free of his contract. Meanwhile, MJ gets a hold of Al Sharpton and tries to use the race card (as if he hadn't been trying to become a white man for the past 20 years). Why all the smoke and mirrors? Why doesn't HE return the Beatles' masters that he owns the right to? Can't take MJ as seriously as Prince. Sorry. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

you got it Backwards My Friend. Can't take Prince's Ass Serious.Michael Jackson Owns His Masters&in a Business Move made a Fare Bid on the Beatles Catelog which by the way Paul Mccartney passed over back in 1980 for 20 Million.MJ bought it for 47 Million in 1985.scream at Mccartney for buying Buddy Holly&Other Catelogs that have Made Him the Richest Man in Rock??Prince Signed a Contract&then when His Ass Couldn't Cash He FLipped out&Blamed Everyone except no pun Intended the Man in the Mirrior.MJ wasn't under a Contract&He was already a Board Member on Sony thanks too His ATV Catelog Connection.MJ Pimped Sony&they not only co-roll ATV Together but MJ gets His Cut on Sony Artists Period&Exit the Building without Spelling Slave on His Face or trying too make a Excuse for His Reasoning.both have some serious Issues within the Matter but MJ though of the two clearly made out far better IMHO.ask yourself this question? MJ can cash his Chips on "Off The Wall",Thriller",Bad'",etc... whenever Prince has too wait out His Catelog too turn 25 Years unless He can Pony up some Loot too FLip the Script.not only have I Always Dug MJ the Music Artist but the Cat on the Business Savvy Tip ain't no Joke.MJ did what you are suppose too do.the Majors aren't gonna give you a Pension&Retirement Money.MJ flipped the Scripted on there Ass.You can't take the stance about them not willing to raise any issues during their "heydays" because face it - when things are good, you don't know what's wrong.
