the whole MJ/Sony thing confuses me. 
so for you Michael-heads that know.... 
do both parties (MJ and Sony) stand to profit from this? one more than the other? i noticed the duets listing..so Michael is back with the label or is this part of their contract agreement? and who owns the rights to his songs, as i've heard Sony does, then heard Michael does.  wtf?

thanks If I'm not mistaken, MJ owns all of his master recordings (from the Jacksons forward). Those were acquired when he restructured his deal in 90 (I believe). As for the duets, I believe that Kanye, Will, Wyclef, etc. are all paid on a contract basis. If they wrote any new lyrics/verses, etc, then they would make money from the songwriting. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
