Chick Corea's Elektric Band After Return To Forever's 70s run, Chick revisited fusion with his Elektric Band. One of the main groups that kept fusion alive in the 80s. *After the first album the band settled around the following players: Chick Corea - keyboards Dave Weckl - drums John Patitucci - bass Frank Gambale - guitar Eric Marienthal - sax *(The first album did not include Eric Marienthal and the guitar duties alternated between Scott Henderson & Carlos Rios) From 1991... ...Light Years tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. TA,
Good timing. I heard return to forever for the 1st time on the Vault on Sirius a few days ago. The track the warrior or something like that and at first I thought it was Zappa. Very cool stuff, with amazing solos. I am def going to purchase a disc from Chick this holiday season. [Edited 12/22/07 19:37pm] Music is the best...

Good lookin' out, tA.
I was introduced to Chick and this band, back in the day when BET played real music and had a jazz program. I couldn't believe the chops in that band, and I was but a wee lil' teenager...

This was one of the first Heavy fusion albums that literally blew my mind, these dudes were clownin' on their instruments back then and Stanley's bass solo on Romantic Warrior is still one of my all time favorite bass solos!

And for the record this was one of the albums that pounded the doors open to an open musical mind. Great memories, i think I even remember the year, 1987? i use to bump this along with Wendy and Lisa's debut along with some Windamhill stuff.

First JP cassette I bought initially confused me: After about the third track, I thought, "Man, this Patitucci guy sure is generous to let his guitar player take all those great solos on his album... " Then, yeah, it dawned on me.

You should check this particular album by bassist Brian Bromberg out... ...You Know That Feeling It specifically states that "THERE IS NO GUITAR ON THIS ALBUM". tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
