Anyone notice George Michael's single covers?

Looking through my old 45's (Yeah I know) and 12" records (Yeah again) from the 80's by George Michael, If you line them up from oldest to newer you can see that his picture (Face, body etc.) seems to be slowly phasing out. By the late 90's it was just the song titles left. Cool effect that flew over most people's heads including mine.

I think he did it because after Wham broke up, he wanted people to focus on the music than the image

That's part of what his hissy fit in the early 90's was about. That people were so focused on his image, that they didn't take him seriously enough as an artist. Whatever. And he wonders why they spent so much money promoting Mariah Carey in 1990, instead of him, when he refused to be in his own videos or to promote the album. Sure, she was banging the boss, but take a look at what YOU'RE doing at the same time, George. rolleyes

oh boo fucking hoo. the first thing one guy ever said to me on the job was to ask if which one of us, my boyfriend or i, was the "mary". i didn't stomp off the job rolleyes
