I was wondering what happened to that whole camp! the guy is talented in a secondary sort of way. but it was like no music was comming out from smooth, immature, etc then everyone going their seperate ways with no news behind it. I was watching TMZ this morning and they were spotted (chris raz and maybe one of the other members) outside of a restraunt or some facility that showed them hugging like brothers but the eyes were like yeah whatever. Maybe there is something here?

I'm with Janfriend's idea that if someone falsely accused me of something I wouldn't be seen in the same room with them...for what? I'd have nothing to gain. Once somebody aims that low, that shows me that they've played all cards left in hand.

But conversely, imagine being in these young mens' shoes...let me put it to you like this; anytime you're working in a high stakes business where there is big money and public reputation involved there is a VERY clear separation between the strong and the weak. The strong faction is represented by those who have the most money, the most active professional business contacts, and the highest degree of decision making power which affects the careers of others. The other faction is subject to the whimsy of whatever of however the powerbrokers deem fit, because they don't have a choice. It's a simple matter of survival of the fittest, predator and prey. And if you're not big enough to run with the predator group, either learn to take your place behind the predator,knowing that eventually there with be a time when they are metaphorically coming to devour you because you're their chosen flavor of the month, or learn how to safely fade into the backround and camoflauge yourself for your own protection.

In short, crazy pedophile or not, Cris Stokes still has enough reach within the industry to crush these kids like bugs. He can still get major industry players on the phone, they cannot. They have no choice but to attempt retract their stories...to appease him and keep him from having them blacklisted within the industry. That's one of the problems with starting children off so young in entertainment and not ensuring that they are also properly educated, and have sound financial planning. Because unless they can reach the highest levels of show business, like say, Usher- then diversify themselves creatively (i.e. film, major theatre roles) as well as finacially (in addition to his eateries I'm sure his mother has a traditional financial portfolio that will keep him safe)...unless you're molded into this sort of model of teen entertainer, once the applause stops you have no safety net and you are screwed. You've spent your entire adolescence being a programmed performing robot for the masses with no idea whastsover how to transition into aldulthood in a productive and lucrative fashion.

...Also, I think the molestation allegations would probably would have very little effect on Stokes back in the day. From what I've seen of the music industry up close and personal is that from the business person's side it's pretty sorrid. It's often devoid of any semblance of ethics or morality whatsoever, even more wild than the entertainers lives themselves. I have seen those considered the "powerbrokers", label people, songwriters, hit producers, artist management up to the most vile shenanigans.. and everyone just looks the other way. I've seen husbands cheat on wives openly, hit songwriters being sexaually harassed, twink prostitutes being procured, folks doing "recreational" drugs on company time on the company's dime...the insanity involved is endless. The likes of Stokes during his heyday fits right in with the crowd, unfortunately. At the end of the day, as long as hit songs are being recorded and the company's bottom line is being met, that's all they care about...and sadly a very nonchalant "by any means neccesary" attitude is taken to behavior which most of us would find pretty yuchy.
