I guess everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I like 'The Flag' album way better than 'Wonderful', even though I did like 'Wonderful' a lot. And I wasn't trying to make this a R vs. P. thread, I was just making an example. And if you confine your musical taste to just "funk", you'll end up boxed in.

I think Rick saw Prince's movie and thought "I can do that....just watch!"

Rick James was sour at Prince for releasing the Purple Rain movie because it was HIS idea.

Said that he kept notes and stories which he boasted about to the bands and his supporting acts back when Prince toured with him

Well, if its true,,,he should've kept his big mouth shut coz Prince is notorious for stealing shit(Andre Cymone, anybody? ).

I personally don't believe this story considering that it was made out of Rick's paranoia, it was funny as hell though.

I remember in 1982,hearing about plans for Rick's movie.It was tentatively titled 'Spice Of Life' and was supposed to be some kind of autobiographical musical that would also feature co-stars Teena Marie and the Temptations.Rick's biggest mistake was going to the media and talking about it,but not following through with it.
