So, who owes you money this year?

I already posted in another thread who owes me $7.99 plus tax, but I wanna know what albums you bought this year that made you want to slap somebody and demand a refund??? Please share

I won an Ebay auction of the Jimmy Castor Bunch "it's just begun" LP from a US seller which I could have easily bought in the U.K but well...
After two weeks waiting and e-mail correspondence, I just had enough and had my $15.00 refund. Few days later, I bought it at my local record store, it was a bit more expensive but there was no waiting. When I order from the U.S I have no problems but this seller did not do his job well.

I pay an $8.00/month fee for Yahoo Music Engine which entitles me to listen to full albums online as part of the monthly fee. Thankfully, this has allowed me to almost entirely rule out a waste of music money. I do, however, blindly buy albums on occasion if it's an artist I like. The closest I've come to out and out regretting an album purchase is MJB's new one, but I even like a handful of tracks on there.

Well im sure this wont be to popular but, its music, and just like movies, books etc..art is what it is to some and not to others. Case in point everyone says "i am legend" is a great movie, i get a text late last night from a friend saying it was shit. Thats the way it goes, its an album, its always a risk, if you are that worried about something like this going down, dont buy music, see movies or read books.

lol ok, quit trippin'

Just like the threads that talk about recommending albums or what albums people think others have slept on, this is asking, based on opinion, what didn't you like. I don't see you harping on those other threads

Mike Farris' CD sounded great in the music store. His soulful arrangements of gospel classics was a change of pace.

But, upon repeated spins in my car, the disc wore thin on me. :yawn2:

I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. Thank God for "used & new" on Amazon...

Let's Overanalyze a Basic Question

All im saying is IT IS WHAT IT IS, stop making it like they owe you something, you know i went to 15 mets games this year because they were in first place all year and then blew it the last week, does that mean i should get my money back because they played like shit that last week? I mean come on now, its one thing if you dont dig an album, shit i got truck loads of crap i wished i wouldnt have bought, but its a record not the end of the world, if you are that worried about were your money is going give the 8 bucks to the homeless guy sleeping on the subway.

And for the record the basic question should just be "with records did you buy that you wished you didnt" not who owes you money, they owe us nothing, lets not say we believe that artists are lying awake thinking "i hope they like me".

Sure they do. I'm sure Ruben Studdard hoped a lot of people liked him, but whatever Alicia or is it Mary?

Wow, I hope you have this much passion over the "What are you listening to" or "Favorite albums" threads

Yes, for someone to dares to ask people to spend their money to buy their work, I can turn around and say they owe it back

Thanks for shitting all over this thread

Well youre missing the point, its like any other art form, they owe you nothing, if you dont like the record cool, everyone has their own opinion, what can i say, sell the cd back on Amazon, but we shouldnt believe that artists actually at the end of the day really care like that. They dont owe us anything, the same thing goes for when we see a concert and the artist doesnt do "hits" they just do the new record, thats the risk we all take, i mean they dont have to do anything but play something, they could come out there and play nursery rhymes if they want to.

You're missing the point of this thread by getting your panties in a bunch over how it's titled, but I seriously doubt you would have an issue with a title like "What artist(s) did you gladly spend money on this year?" talk to the hand

My pimp.

But everytime I ask for the money he owes me,
he gives me a beating.

Then, when I try to explain to him that my crack habit isn't just gonna pay for itself, he beats me even more.
He just can't seem to be able to understand the dynamics of economics.

I feel like I'm stuck between the moon & New York City wit' dis guy.

Ya know, I don't think I bought any new music this year. I'm just so bored with it all. I bought maybe 2 old cd's and that's it for the entire year of 2007.

For me this was the year I saved shitloads of ca$h. I bought a used iPod at 35% off (160GB video, natch) and I loaded up with a bunch of live shows of old faves and added in a bunch of newer shows. I am very appreciative, as this process prevented me from paying way too much for a shitty Police reunion tour and confirms the Stevie Wonder mini-tour was a momentous occasion. So let me salute all tapers and torrent uploaders. You guys are THE BOMB!
