You knew the chubby black guy would be treated worse then the rocking white chicks.

His music was really awful, you have to admit.

Let's not forget about this guy

It isn't; it's the one popularized by Nat King Cole and Donny Hathaway. The Carpenters tune he sang was "Superstar."

falloff A man after my own heart! I loathe Justin. AFAIC, Tamyra was the only one on that season who had any business winning. But when you let America vote... disbelief

I agree, although I would be kind of embarrassed to not co-sign Kelly Clarkson's enduring success - did NOT see that one coming!

You couldn't have known that she would go on to record a dud by how awesome she was on American Idol 1 though.

The man does not know what he wants to do, does he want to sing or act?

I can understand why the dropped him. Make up your mind, concentrate and stick to one thing.

The same goes for Fantasia...Make your presence known, in your field and then branch out.

But That doesn't make any sense whatsoever, sweet pea.

How much more can your presence be known in the music industry other than having the legendary music icon Clive Davis behind you, and achieving platinum status with your debut recording?

If this young man is serious about being in show business, and his recording career did not flourish as long as he had hoped...then he needs to do what is referred to as "diversificaton", and continue to engage his talents in other related arenas to his art to first, keep a public presence, and secondly, PAY HIS BILLS. He's a singer. Singers are not only restricted to recording studios and concert venues to hone their craft and maintain a career.

J Records dropping him would have nonthing to do with him performing in a musical. He was dropped because his cd didn't push beyond the amount of units they needed sold to create a healthy bottom line (i.e. $$$) for the company. As a TRUE artist he has to move on to the next gig and literally keep singin' for his supper...
